Can you tell me whats up with Cade & handoffs to Ship.

I’ve seen two handoffs become fumbles (and points against us) and one time Ship was lined up close to Cade and bumped Cade’s throwing arm a little while setting up a block.

Shipley got too use to being the entire offense and has wired himself to take the ball every time.

You must not have been watching. Dude was the offense with DJ at QB. When he was shutdown it was ugly. When the team needed a big play he was that guy. I get it youre a shipley hater, doesnt change the fact that the offense ran through him the 2 years prior.

Disclaimer — Former high school player and arm chair QB, so feel free to disregard my understanding.

The meshpoint is really a push / pull read for the QB. It shouldn’t be ambiguous. You make the read and either push the ball to the RB or you commit to calling your own number and pull.

Is CK2 leaving it ambiguous and Ship doesn’t feel the push so he doesn’t secure the ball? Does ship clamp before there is a push in anticipation of contact? I’m not sure. My best guess is CK2 is not committing to a push or pull and the ambiguity is leading to a bad exchange.

Thanks - I haven’t listened to the interview yet. Sounds like the RB pulled. Should always be a QB push. Ships fault if that’s what happened.

This is a coaching problem.

The QBs and RBs should both know how the QB’s push or pull driven pressure dictates who gets the ball.

Not kidding here: Do you know someone who could share that element of a finer point of QB and RB play to the coaches?

Maybe you could send a polite post to Tigernet staff, and ask them to make a gentle inquiry to the coaching staff (esp. G.Riley and C.J.Spiller ).

See my post below. Ship admitted he didn't give cade the option and was his bad. Cade made the right read. The other time, Ship just ran into him. That's the only 2 I'm aware that it happened.

Shipley admitted yesterday was his fault and that he did want it then. Cade made the correct read. He pulls it clean, he may have taken it to the house.

Thanks, ClemGal. I missed that interview and didn’t see your poast. Ship should’ve waited for the push or let it go. Can’t clamp without the push.
