The best HC we have at CU...period. Playing with guys that fit his system, but c'mon, these are guys that were passed up by all the top programs. To take the talent he has and do what he does is remarkable IMO. Also have a lot of respect for Penley and track coach(name slips my mind) but they also get a better athlete in their respective sports than Brownell does. Leggett and Dabo would be 4th and 5th on my list.

He is the best coach because he beats the people he is supposed to. That's what Dabo did all year but he is bashed for not getting upsets over highly ranked teams. Scar is a worse basketball team that Clemson since Brownell has been here and he is 1-2 against them. Now I think he is a good coach too but bashing other coaches for doing the same thing that Brownell is doing just doesn't make any sense.

Country! HE SHOULD beat who he's supposed to..and I am in no way insulting golf or track...both excellent coaches that I stated I had a lot of respect for. I do respect Jack although I wish he'd change some of his philosophies..Dabo, not so much

Dabo took over? An ACC Championship, facility upgrades, top recruiting, hiring some of the best coordinators in the country, none of that counts as advancing the program?

Brownell has yet to improve our conference ranking or record since getting to Clemson. Swinney has done both. We were in the game and had a chance to beat 2 top 10 teams this year. That is a huge improvement from where we were when Dabo took over.

He would lose to teams we had no business even letting hang in there, but he would get us up a going against top quality opponents. I think we have just the opposite in Dabo, we are the class of our conference but can't manage to compete on that consitent level in our big time games.

I found no bashing of other coaches, unless you consider him not ranking your favorite as the top coach as bashing. He merely stated his order of who he believes our best coaches to be. I pretty much agree (this is not bashing) with his list except I don't know enough about the track coach to rate him.

He hasn't accomplished anything yet. I think he's one of the best teachers we've ever had, but his recruiting is lacking big time which could be the death of him in the long run. His style of play doesn't lead to excitement over a non-BB program for recruits. Most of the best players like to score. You ain't getting that playin for Brad.

Recruiting will probably always be an issue. While we still have the university itself to sell, the old "you get to play in the ACC" pitch doesn't hold the weight it used to. Now-a-days everybody seems to be on TV all of the time and the prestige of the conference isn't what it used to be.
I like the approach he is taking. Recruit players who fit your system. Try to find overlooked talent. And plan on players being here for 4 years and eventually fielding a senior heavy team as often as possible to use experience and maturity against the young talent of the tobacco road schools.

1- you ranked Leggett ahead of another coach.
2-Dabo fits your description of why you like Brownell to a T but has had more success. If that's your criteria Penley or Dabo should be 1/2.
