for those not wanting the 4 players suspended for UGA...

i would like to refer to you Stephen Garcia!
This guy was constantly given chances without suspensions and look how he turned out...
Dabo said it best yesterday, as head coach he has a job to prepare these guys not only on the football field but also in life. they need to learn a lesson from this and hopefully it will show them and the rest of the tigers what happens when you put your own selfish actions in front of the team.
Go Tigers!

Heck G-Hop and Geo were suspended last year for weed

And that was during the season. Dabo has absolutely no tolerance for this. Nor should he.

wonder if that had anything to do with Geo's departure. meaning inability or unwillingness to work his way out of the dog house so to speak

it's no surprise after both Wiggins and Kearse came in and played as true freshmen that his time was short. Add in Gibson and TJ Green as safeties and Geo saw the writing on the wall.

they broke the rules. why should the team put them first?
i get why some fans want to avoid the game suspensions, but the issue's so much bigger than missing 4 quarters of football.

Yes, because it's illegal.

Now, I'm firmly in the "honestly, this shouldn't be illegal" camp, but it is, for now. Players know it and break the rules/law and should be disciplined for it.
I might also add I have NO IDEA what this infraction was and am NOT saying it was drug related at all.

There are some violations that the coach doesn't have any options but to suspend players. I don't know what caused this suspension but it most likely falls into one of these categories for the decision to be made so early.

Sammy was only suspended for 2 games but the hangover effected his whole season. Giving Hopkins the chance to shine and be a first round pick. Sammy learned from it all and came out ready for his junior year. This will all work itself out, but we must have discipline. It also helps future recruits for parents.
Most parents want their kids in a structured, accountable environment in order to lead them into the next chapter of their lives.
Swinney is doing it right, and he has complete control of the program. Go Tigers!

I will never judge a coach by singular infractions by players. They'd happen with any random collection of 18-22 year olds, so I see no reason to expect them not to happen among a collection of football players.
I judge coaches (and thus programs) based on how they react and respond to them.
I am disappointed that this happened and that these guys will miss the game, but VERY glad to have a coach who is willing to make meaningful discipline evident.
