Bear with me. Need to rant for a moment.

The amount of posts on here on a weekly basis concerning "where we draw the line with Dabo" is alarming. I know lots of them are from coots, but there are legit Tiger fans bringing this up as well.
People seem to forget that for the better part of a decade Clemson football was largely irrelevant on a national scale. We were winning 7 games a year and were lucky to break into the polls a couple times a year at something in the 20s most of the time. We were dropping games yearly to Wake Forest, Duke, Virginia, etc. The idea of being consistently ranked in the top-10 and beating top-10 teams regularly seemed too distant to even dream about.
In just a few seasons Dabo has changed all of that. He's got us consistently ranked now. Not just somewhere in the polls. IN THE TOP-TEN. He's got us recruiting at the highest level I can remember. He's got us demolishing unranked opponents and regularly beating top-10 opponents. He's hired phenomenal coaches and created a winning culture founded on class, integrity, tradition, and belief.
We are about to enjoy our third 10-win season in a row. We have a great chance to get into a BCS bowl. We have a great chance to start and finish an entire season in the top-10. I could go on and on and on about all of this. He has a 49-22 record overall. He's 33-12 in the conference. There are literally scores of programs around the country that wish they had a coach like Dabo as well as the level of Clemson's success under his leadership.
It just amazes me how quickly people seem to dismiss what he and this program have accomplished in such a short time. I was sitting in the stands in Winston Salem for Bowden's last game. What we have now is light years from where we were back then.
So, enough of this "where do we draw the line with Dabo" nonsense. We are #### lucky to have him as our head coach, and I wouldn't trade him for anyone else.
ALL IN. ALL THE TIME.

When he starts being contacted by other schools this off-season, they will see what the rest of America really thinks. We'll have schools lined up to interview him.

Actually 'legit' Tiger fans don't make remarks such as that but we certainly have our share of experts on tigernet who have probably never set foot in a Clemson classroom or have given one cent to the University who enjoy reminding me how things could be better. Dabo has done the right things the right way with the right kind of young men who we can all be proud of all the time. TJ may not be another Winston and we have learned recently that that is a good thing! When I see how the athletic program is doing at Clemson versus my 'friends' programs in Chapel Hill I love Clemson and Dabo and President Barker etc. even more. Get with in Tiger'fans' or get out!

Nice rant, but your forgetting perhaps the greater area of "where do we draw the line". Bowden never lost 4 in a row to cootsville.

He DOESN'T NEED A LINE TO DRAW...because Dabo DOES NOT DESERVE the likes of your BS
You suck, and always have on here. Go somewhere and sell your stink to stinky people.
I took a shower this morning and you're making me feel dirty again. But that's just your style isn't it...dirty, ugly, nasty...whatever you can do to get a rise out of folks. We've talked about things being "shameful" this AM. I found the utmost example of SHAME...after reading your post.

Bowden also wasn't playing a S.car team

that was as talented as the one's Dabo has faced. They were rarely even ranked.
The record sucks and has to change in two weeks, but lets not pretend that it's apples to apples.

I think Dabo has found his home for the most part

And the only question that remains is how well he can maintain his success over the next few cycles. Last year and especially this year we've got a good deal of "Dabo talent" leaving. He's recruited pretty well. And he still has his strong coordinators. No doubt one or both of them will move up in their careers, too.
So, I think Dabo is here for a number of years regardless of his record at beating SCar. Well, mostly. But the way he survives talent turnover in time, both players and coaches, will tell the story. Can't say on coaches. But with player talent, there is no reason to think he will not come out on top.
If he gets the team to the playoffs in the next 2 or 3 years, he could write his own ticket.

Absolutely, great rant! I rarely respond to the comments here because frankly I get sick of some the stupid comments and responses I read. As one of "silent" supporters who views this site regularly, I will add my voice of support to your comments. Very well said, indeed.

The dynamics of college FB recruiting, parents, grades, behaviors, and player development mean that every program is constantly faced with constant change. That Dabo and staff have found a way to take a VERY MEDIOCRE D1 program and turn it into a consistent winner is outstanding. We may very well lose the Carolina game. Worse things have happened - such as your nationally ranked QB being brought up on charges!
In the stands by us during games, you'd think that the "dolts" on the sidelines where totally uninformed. You've never heard such dribble. These are bitter, unfulfilled people whose only joy in life is to denigrate more successful people. Oh, BTW, they're the same one who stop cheering the home team to boo the visiting team. Examples of class, every one.
Go, Dabo. Your star continues to rise and if the local yokels can't appreciate the improvement, then we'll all weep when you leave for greener fields and we're again consigned to the likes of Hatfield, West, and Bowden.
Meanwhile, let everyone here kindly step up my rear and let a GC lead the way.

Like the statements and agree with the fact that Dabo has assembled a great staff and his recruiting is unbelievable.
the issue is who is coming after Dabo? His assts maybe but not Dabo
Many would love to have his recruiting ability but he is not going backwards, so his own quick success at Clemson has also contributed to his lack of offers at other schools
Most big schools will want an Offense or Defense genius to match with a good staff. Not many schools looking for a recruiting coord to make a HC
Everyone should just enjoy what he brings to Clemson rather than forcing love for DAbo nation wide. It isn;t often a coach brings such success and isn;t pulled away by other teams. This is one where I can;t name a bigger opportunity than Clemson who would want DAbo
Disagree with me, name a top 20 school who would take Dabo
Enjoy what you have it is so abnormal to be able to enjoy success and know HC is going nowhere. Morris may go but not Dabo

I would say most every head coach at a fbs school at one time was either an oc or dc before becoming a hc. it is just the way it is done. therefore a coach earns his stripes on one side of the ball or the other. I think his point is that dabo has never been either.
