I know we lost the series to NCST which isn’t what anybody wanted. But what is lost in all that is two outstanding starting pitching performances from Clemson starters in a row. Without errors & a few better at bats, Clemson wins this series. Hell, maybe they sweep. I chose to believe they worked through the mistakes & the offensive came back to life late Sunday. If we get Smith back as a weekend starter, watch out everybody else.

I totally agree. The Rigers have exceeded my expectations with Smith missing in tbe rotation. Games will be lost, but this weekend the reasons are completely correctable. All teams have adversity during a season.. Hopefully they get through this and get hot for a postseason run.

So basically you are saying if Clemson played better and NC State played worse we would win the series? 🤣 Duh

Fact is, we played terrible for 18 innings across the board. Pitching, defense, base running and hitting all have to be more consistent to be worthy of a #2 ranking.

Pretty good game today (less mistakes) but we'll see where the Tigers go from here

Very encouraged also. Certainly need adversity with so many games in baseball, sometimes you learn more from losses than wins. Gifting at least one game away via defensive miscues…NC St is top 30 RPI team and I know EB will have the guys ready down the stretch.

With Knaak as our Sunday starter when he’s on he can probably beat anyone. Very impressive. Same with Tristan Smith, gives us a very strong chance vs ANYONE. Need him back.

We have enough pitching to have a championship season, but probably not coming through a losers bracket.

Gordon was 94-96 as closer today. Maybe he’s our guy at the end of games now.

I think you are missing my point. Of course if we play better & they play worse we win. Such an over simple take. The 2nd loss in the series had nothing to do with pitching. The other issues can be addressed. You either have pitching or you don’t. With the emergence of our Sat. & Sun staring pitch & getting Smith this weekend rotation has a chance to be scary good.
