"We believe that this is Alabama's best team," John Murray, executive director of sportsbook operator The SuperBook, told ESPN. In 2018, Alabama had what many were calling the best defense ever and possibly the best team ever.

That best ever Alabama team went undefeated in the regular season in 2018 and then suffered a shocking and crushing defeat to The Clemson Tigers in the National Championship Game by a score of 44-16.
