Cornhole Boards Finishing Issue

So I made my first set of cornhole boards and obviously had to go Clemson themed! So far everything has went pretty smooth until I've applied the decals. Well the decals went on fine but the tape I used to align them left marks. I tried sanding them out and thought I got most out. Unfortunately after first coat of poly the lines are showing especially when light reflects off at the right angle. I am pretty new to finishing wood. For those experienced with things such as this would it be wise to sand out these marks? Under the poly is 2 coats of sanding sealer and stain. See attached photos.

Soak the boards in lighter fluid, and then touch a lit match to them. Run about the yard screaming FIRE! FIRE! as if they spontaneously combusted, and make sure there are witnesses in close proximity. Next, call your insurance company and report the loss. Finally, collect big fat check, deposit, get money back out of account, rent limo, fill with hookers and blow, enjoy the tailgating!
It's a proven method, and deviating from even one of these steps in the slightest could lead to an overall failure, thus reducing the overall volume of enjoyment.

I've already done this exactly step-by-step with other tailgating paraphernalia with the exception of meth instead of blow. If I try it again surely the insurance company will catch on?
I'll t-mail him for advice. It's pretty minor and could probably ignore. But if easily fixed wouldn't mind getting those streaks out.
