We’ve discussed everything from cornbread to bourbon.
So what suggestions do y’all have?

Ah, the good ol days.
Srss tho - I got two boxes as gifts years ago from work. Both were decent. I think the smaller ones were called "Rockys?"
The other, I kept the box because it was cool. They were good, but I'm no afficionado. They were Fuente OpusX. Dang.... Surprised how much these were now. That was a good vendor though.
Link https://cigarcountry.com/product/opus-x-fuente-fuente/Fuente Fuente OpusX Fuente Fuente The Opus X Fuente Fuente cigar box contains 32 rare full bodied Dominican puros made by legendary Tabacalera Fuente. Shop now DR direct

Haven't had an Opus X in years. I'd rather have one of these than a Cuban.

They were really good, and I'm no heavy cigar smoker by any means.
Friend had a baby shortly after I got these, so shared 6 or 7. Good times

Drew Estate or Brick House Maduro are both good. Stay away from the mail order clubs that come in the Sunday paper. They are cheap for a reason. Also don't think I've ever had a bad Cohiba, but they ain't cheap

I used to smoke cigars. There are lots of choices. Its kind of like asking whats the best fishing lure or gun.
Padron Arturo Fuentes Partagas Upmann Macanudo Partagas Montecristo Great brands 3 types of leaves....connecticut most available..kind of mild, candela...its green and kind of sweet and earthy and Maduro...kind of like a guiness beer Dont get short cut filler, they fall apart too easily, get the long cut filler. Ummmmmm....there are all types of sizes, go for the shorter ones until you find a brand/flavor that you like. You might also turn green...

I like mild cigars, handmade of course, and avoid the darker, robusto stuff because it turns me green like Jedi Kermit. 😝

As I enjoy a Davidoff and catching up on Tiger Net I have to say that fine cigars are like fine wine. They have a vintage year and some years for the same brand and form are different from year to year. Also a higher price doesn’t mean it is a better smoke. Try picking up a copy of Cigar Aficionado magazine and/or listen to a Cigar Dave podcast.

Lots of good suggestions above. Leaf by Oscar is my go to. Honduran leaf, good roll, hard to beat.

They'll set you back a little bit but worth the money. If your taste is not that expensive Cohiba red dot is right on time.

Padron. They have some truly fine, complex tobaccos. Even their inexpensive "thousand" series (2000, 3000, etc.) are very tasty cigars. I also loved most anything by Aruro Fuente; the 8-5-8 is an excellent smoke. For day-to-day, affordable smokes, Brick House was a favorite for sure. It was a very enjoyable hobby for many years, but I gave it up for health reasons about 2018-ish.

These are all good and also really like Carlos Toraño. I actually like the robustos particularly with a good bourbon. That said, it’s a 1 - 2 time a year partaking nowadays.

does arturo fuente still make those little Hemingway short-stories? Man, those were good. Of course, then their warehouse with wrappers burned down, and I'm not sure the quality of the cigars ever recovered.

If you want to spend the money I would go Padron or Davidoff. Best 2 cigars I have ever smoked. I try to smoke 2 a day so I may not be around much longer.
My 2 a day are not the aforementioned cigars. They are my special occasion cigars.
I normally go on CigarBid or JR’s and buy different cigars on their auctions. Lots of great cigars.
Be sure your Cubans are legit. The bands look similar but there are a lot of counterfeits.

Used to smoke cigars and was disciple of Cigar Dave who had a syndicated radio show. He was the go to guy for cigars and libations. You can still find him on You Tube.
