Alvin Kamara: I hated to see this
Jul 25, 2012, 10:32 AM
|
|
One top Georgia prospect that Clemson won’t get is Alvin Kamara, the speedy tailback from Norcross High School. He eliminated the Tigers when he released his top five of Tennessee, UGA, Alabama, FSU and Oklahoma State. “Yeah, I just didn’t connect with the coaching staff as a whole [at Clemson],” Kamara told the AJC. “And I honestly couldn’t see myself living there for 3-4 years.” There were reports that Kamara may visit UGA on Friday, but he said he won’t. He’s also unsure on a decision date.
Anyone know if us getting Tyshon Dye hurt............ or maybe he knows we stand a good chance with Green???? Anyone know?

We're done with the RB position, so I'd suspect we let him know he didn't have a scholly any more.

I think the real story is quite different. When Dye committed, the class was full. Sour grapes at this point and his reaction paints a picture of a low-character guy anyway. At this point we're looking to add more OL and DB this cycle.

Not neccessarily. He could have felt this way and Dye may have felt the opposite. There were no reports that stated he tried to commit or anything. No need to jump to conclusions.

Which means he wasn't ready to make his decision yet….

He knew Clemson was only going to sign two rb's this signing period. Dye committed, so Kamara and Clemson go their separate ways. The kid did nothing wrong or had sour grapes for not yet committing. If he wasn't ready to make a decision then that's his choice. Clemson was going take either Dye or Kamara, who ever committed first. That's just the process of college recruiting. There is no right or wrong to it.

Clemson from his list. He made no mention of Dye committing to us. Besides we were only going to sign two rb's this recruiting cycle. There was nothing bitter about his comments. It seems like the sour grapes are more on your part. You shouldn't get too upset over one high schools players choice of schools he is considering going to.

only take 2 rbs this cycle; dye made 2.
i know kamara and jenkins are really good buds, i'm sure there was some disappointment if he saw a potential open door close.

have had the opp that green was given the week before.
if dye was higher on the coach's board though, it might not have been first come, first served for kamara, but i'm guessing now...

I think (from what I've heard) Dye was higher on Morris' list...Dye has the physical characteristics that Morris likes from his r-back.

has to like Clemson. If he did not connect, then best of luck to him on down the road. Glad to have who we got and would not trade them for anyone that has their doubts about CU and dont feel a connection.

I think he probably did like it, but with us already filling rb's he decided to go elsewhere. Like 74tiger said, you know the coaches gave him the opportunity to commit but he probably kept looking and lost his spot.

They say Dye maybe moved to LB... He is a stud. I watched him play in highschool. The things he can do on defense is unreal.

What a cheap excuse by Alvin Kamara. I don't have much respect for that young man...although it doesn't matter because he's only 17.
But still, why not just say..."I liked Clemson at one point but they filled up with some quality backs which is good for Clemson."
Very immature on his part.
Keep in mind that he had us in his top 4 not too long ago so how could he have changed so quickly. BECAUSE DYE COMMITTED!

I watched some vids on Kamara and he is a very good RB. Then I watched DYe and Gallman and from what I saw we have two very good RB's coming in. Very happy with our Clemson Commits

would just take this guy's, and other recruits that decide not to commit to Clemson, words at face value. Not everyone wants to come here and just because he decides not to does not make him a bad person, not good enough, or vengeful.
Its ok if he doesn't connect with the coaches or cant see himself living in Clemson for 4 years, we'll find(found) someone who does.
