So, the other day I was speaking w someone while driving in area between Cola and OB. I remarked that the reason there was sand as some of the top soil is because that whole area was a shallow ocean millions of years ago. Which to me is just scientific fact based on geology etc.
But I had forgotten said person was very religious and they took everything in the Bible literally; thus the earth has only been around as long as the Old Testament says. So person scoffs at the idea of that area being under water in the past.
I didn’t press the issue one bit. But it got me thinking; people that only believe the Bible don’t believe in dinosaurs or the ice age etc etc.
How can one blatantly disregard science that is proven? Don’t get me wrong, I am a Christian and I believe in JC, but I also believe in science.
This isn’t a religious post. I’m curious of the opinion of you people.

I can't understand how people don't believe scientifically proven facts. But take a book that was somewhat taken from spoken word in a dead language over 2000 years ago and translated numerous times to be fact and not to be questioned.

Oh, they don't all believe dinosaurs didn't exist. Some think they were here during the Biblical times and that man hunted them into extinction after Noah's Ark.

I come from a very church going family, only my Dad and really don't go. I've got an Uncle on one side that was a preacher until he got old and an Aunt on the other that was a missionary in South America in the 80s. Luckily I've never heard anyone say anything about YEC stuff.
Anyway, there are people with broken brains. They aren't all necessarily bad, but can be influenced by various grifters. It is okay to befriend these types but keep them in check...and possibly away from others.
