A WATERFALL on Lake Hartwell?

11

Jul 7, 2023, 2:07 PM

Dead period before football season begins is depressing, so my family always looks for fun stuff going on. Lake Hartwell is a great spot, but WHO KNEW Lake Hartwell had a waterfall???

Are there any beautiful lake cities in SC where the prices aren't through the roof and the towns are nice? It seems Hartwell is outrageously expensive.

So, funny you say that. The Tugaloo River area of Lake Hartwell is starting to become a great area. Technically, it's Westminster, but there are more and more places on the lake than ever before.

There's a place called Boondock's (featured in the video actually), that has a really good breakfast spot overlooking the water. There's also Tilly's Tiki Bar/Grill at Harbor Light Marina.

Check it out!

Lake Greenwood is nice though prices are going up as yankees continue to vacate their over taxed states and head south.

I no longer cruise the waters of Lake Hartwell having sold my boat several years ago. I don't recall any waterfall into the shores of the lake. Perhaps the closest thing to a waterfall might be the spilage over the ### at Lake Issaqueena into Lake Hartwell.

I talked to sooooo many people on Lake Hartwell that never knew there was a waterfall.

Crazy!

Our neighbors took their pontoon to it on Monday from Portman Marina/Clemson Marina area.

To be fair, that waterfall is more "up the creek" than "on the lake".

And to be fair, Clemson University isn't on Lake Hartwell, but instead on the Seneca River....

...but if you can get to it all by the boat/jet ski/kayak/canoe, who really cares?
;)

Hartwell D am is a good waterfall. There is a park on each side, and you can walk across. It is about 3 miles.

The coots like to fish until they release the water, it’s like football it’s not their game.

This weekend saw a huge Eagle come into my cove looking over a family of Geese.
