After the Bears lose tonight, Ryan Day to Bears will start to become a hot topic. Nagy has one foot out the door and people of Chicago dislike him.

The Bears might want him but would he leave OSU now?

Ryan Day has some NFL experience in his background but I doubt he'd want to leave Ohio State right now. They should have top 5 recruiting classes indefinitely and are well-prepared to compete in the NIL environment. No doubt in my mind Ohio State would pay him whatever necessary. It would take an incredible offer for him to consider the jump.
I'm not certain how strong the relationship between Day and Justin Fields is. I don't believe they are particularly close.
Plus there is one fact everyone should know: Part of the Bears franchise DNA is they do NOT pay big money to coaches.

Maybe that's why Fickell stayed at Cincinnati. Pretty sure he's going to be the next coach there if Day leaves.

I think it's a great idea. Anything that would hurt Ohio State is a good thing in my book.
Maybe they could hire Urban Meyer? ?? He'll be unemployed soon.

Just saying
Coot Fgf Native, The records of The Ohio State University are really puny when you consider the advantages that they have. The OldSucYou is in a state with 14 million people, but it is the only Power 5 team in that state. (No other CFB team has the advantage of being the only P5 team in a populous state.) And because OldSucYou is the only CFB of any importance in the state, they get first choice of most of the talented players from that large pool. And they play in the Big10 that hasn't been good in over 15 years, so most years they don't play any competitive teams. (How many times has Michigan lost to Sou Carolina? What's the record of OldSucYou vs Clemson?) And they had a significant advantage the last time they played Clemson since they only played 6 games versus the 12 that Clemson played. The OldSucYou players were rested, relatively injury free and they weeks to prep to play Clemson. Not so for the team that played 12 games. The NCAA should not have allowed them in the CFP. The score of the game should always have an asterisk.

Last time i checked you can recruit player from anywhere . And if population matters in states for football , California and Texas school should always beat schools like Alabama. I guess Cincinati shouldn’t be in CFP cause they are a huge school and are just a little ol’ school like clemson right

If Matt Rhule can get 70 million from the NFL then Day can certainly get more than that. Still it does seem unlikely but you never know. I'm sure the pressure of being expected to go undefeated every year wears on these guys and what grown man truly enjoys groveling at the feet of 17 year olds in an attempt to maintain their job security.

Day can get more from Ohio State than the NFL

It isn't a matter of money, which is one reason why I don't see him leaving soon.
If Ohio State were to win a couple of championships, maybe Ryan Day would seek a different challenge.
One other possibility: If they lose to Michigan next year, don't win the B1G championship and fail to make the CFP, their insane fan base might turn on him.
I'm not joking. All other fan bases in the B1G love their teams but live as if there is more to life than college football. OSU fans have a high percentage of addicted football junkies and feel winning the B1G is their divine right.
