Why is this such a big deal. SC plays 4 or 5 in a row

every year... For all you people that talk about how the SEC isn't really that much better than anyone, you sure make a big deal about playing three teams in a row. Now, if you said 3 top 10 teams in a row, I'd bite. They happen to be in the SEC.

I will be the first to admit...it is top heavy and a great conference for football...past the top 3-4 teams very average. I cant say much this year, ACC is down.

past the top 3 or 4 are very average??? Bama, LSU, A&M, UGA, UF and SC are 6 of the top teams in the nation. Hell, they may well be the top 6 teams in the country.
Thats more than 3 or 4.

They are in now way shape for form the best 6 teams in the conference and the only reason they are all ranked so high with so few losses is because the bottom of the SEC is terrible. The rest of the conference is 0-30+ against those top 6 teams. I don't care how average you think you are, if you have that kind of combined effort you are bad teams.
The only proven teams out of that list are A&M and Florida. Bama is in the championship because they played two good teams and went 1-1. Florida played a solid schedule with 5 good teams on it and went 4-1 they deserve credit. I will even give SCar credit for winning two of their 4 big games, but they are still are only 2-2 against solid competition. At least in the Big 12 they play solid competition that are capable of beating someone from time to time.

They are doing things now that even they wouldn't stoop to before stevie took over, but he is a very smart FB coach. It almost makes up for him being such a jerk. Almost.

Kentucky, Vandy, Tennessee and Arkansas, but since all three of the ones we play are in the top 10, going 2-1 against those three looks pretty good. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about the one loss we've already got.

next year. That's like when Tiger Woods claimed he won the grand slam because he won 4 majors in a row. The problem was that it occurred in 2 calendar years. Woods got ridiculed for making that claim.

USC played three in three weeks with two of them on the road. Georgia LSU Florida. Then they got to play Tennessee and Arkansas . Say what you want but that makes for a fun schedule win or lose.

Read where in the history of the ACC there have been 9 match ups between top 10 teams. The SEC had at least 6 this year. What would be considered Clemson's "brutal" stretch of 5 games.

SC had a tough schedule this year. Last year I think we played a tougher schedule. That's what you SEC lovers can't seem to grasp. Just because you play in the SEC doesn't always mean you play a "brutal" schedule.

In 2011, Carolina played: #5 Arkansas #20 Georgia Auburn (honorable mention votes) Florida ( honorable mention votes) Mississippi State (honorable mention votes).
Clemson played: #17 Virginia Tech #23 FSU Auburn (honorable mention votes).
Like I said, Carolina plays a brutal schedule compared to clemson, just about every year.

And go look at the SOS rankings. Big 12 and PAC 12 are playing tougher schedules than the SEC. Think about that next time you start to talk about the SEC "grind" as you like to call it.

Every good team should beat lower tier teams in their conference. The difficulty of a schedule is dependent on how many good teams you have to play. Leaving Carolina and clemson aside, Carolina played 3 Top 10 teams. clemson played none. In fact clemson played only one Top 25 team (other than Carolina). Yes, compared to clemson's typical schedule, Carolina's was and is normally "brutal".

Average by what standard? Losing to the six teams you just mentioned? Most conferences would like to have three quality teams.

Regardless what you do against LSU, we won a biggie a few weeks ago. That was fun. And next year, we play Georgia too (as we do annually), plus the rest of our SEC schedule.

Well good for you. Clemson is stuck playing the teams in the ACC. Can't help the way it is, but you should keep beating your chest about SOS and the SEC.

Some of those teams didn't finish as highly ranked, but the teams who played the most ranked opponents last year were Clemson and LSU

Take away VT's two losses to Clemson and they play for the national title. Take away FSU's loss to us they play in the OB and finish ranked much higher. Take away Auburn's loss to us and they finish ranked.
And you conveinetly ignored the post above about the Big 12 and PAC 12 playing tougher ranked schedules than the SEC. So what is this "SEC grind" you speak of? Should be the "Big 12 grind" or the "Pac 12 grind".

Anyone can play that game of taking away a loss. The fact is that Carolina's opponents last year were generally ranked higher than clemson's at the end of the season.

Not sure which SOS rating you are using but the SEC is second to the Big 12 according to Sagarin. The ACC is nestled in at 7 between the Big East and WAC. In the SEC it all depends on the luck of the draw. This year UGA and Alabama had the luck while USC, LSU, Florida, Texas AM did not. So like some say not every SEC scedule is "brutal" but for some this year theirs were.
