I have a 2014 Camry with 234K miles on it. When the pandemic hit and prices went insane, our plans changed. I'd get a new Camry ($30k) and he'd drive my old Camry until the wheels fall off. BUT, if we get him this truck, which seems "reasonable", well, I'll let him drive that and I will keep my current Camry another year or two, and hopefully save enough to buy a new one straight cash. $18K would have been almost what I would have put down on a new Camry if I had to buy one today anyway.
