1981 Charter flight to Orange Bowl

Anyone fly on New Years Day 1982 charter to Miami and back after the OB? We had hospitality rooms at first class hotel on the beach, transfer buses at the stadium to the plane on the Tarmac, champagne on the flight back for about $200 including ticket.

We took a charter bus that year and we stayed 3 nights in a nice hotel in fort Lauderdale, tickets to the game and the cost was 175 per person.

Scalping tickets has today become legal or at least the norm

It's just hard for the average fan to justify the amount of $$ to attend the big games. Especially when there happens to be more than one "big game" (Charlotte, Miami, Glendale). Heck, it's hard for a lot of fans to justify the cost of season tickets and IPTAY. Do what you can, and support the tigers.

but now the NC game from Greenville's "Premier Tiger Travel" is $2200/person, NOT including ticket. OK, charter flight with BAGAGE HANDLING (whoopee!!), and a nice stay at a Doubletree (slightly better than Holiday Express). Let's see, $2200/person by 250 people - cool $550,00. assuming $50k for inflated room rate, thats half a $mill for the charter. Someone is making out big time.

I'll pass. Still considering the Vegas route, but will see.
