Clemson's Smartest Kid in the Dumb Kid Row Theory

We warmly welcome Clemson to the Big 12 Conference. That said we do not understand the view of some of your fans and your coach who opine that the best ticket to a national football championship is a weak ACC conference.
Clemson had the goods to be an SEC team but South Carolina got there first. Clemson is now on the brink of joining a challenging Big 12 Conference.
Grow a Pair. Compete with the best and be the best. South Carolina went from obscurity to a player in the top conference in the land. Play with the Big Boys every week and compete for a national championship the old fashion way: play the best tough, competitive teams every week.
Two other points: There is more to Big 12 football than just Texas and Oklahoma. For example:
Kansas State, a land grant college like Clemson, has been derided on this board. I hate K-State but I can't deny that in the past 10 years, on and off, KSU been a nationally competitive football program. Clemson's highly paid DC was a star football player at K-State. Check it out, KSU has better 10 year post season record than Clemson.
My school Kansas... a renowned basketball program and at best an uneven football program. A couple of years ago Kansas was in the top 10 and in the Orange Bowl in prime time, KU physically manhandled and beat VT the pride of the ACC.
On any given day, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, and the remainder of the Big 12 can and do win.
Can't wait to see the passionate, football literate Clemson fans travel to the Big 12 venues.

Make no mistake... I know Clemson football, and especially Clemson's smart, passionate fans will be a great addition to the new and improved Big 12. I expect Clemson will be an immediate impact program. And the Big 12 fans who travel to Clemson will fall in love with the campus, the stadium and the quality of play.

Your coach was quoted on TigerNet when he discussed his reasons for staying with the ACC. One of his salient points was why go to a league where you get beat up every week. I can't blame him but we all know that Clemson will be a better program if showcased in a prestigeous football conference. No disrespect to your coach, his reasoning is sound. Why pass on Duke for Oklahoma?
Those of us who have lived with the Big 12 for years know that the recently reorganized Big 12 (pre-more expansion) is a respected conference. With the on the record additions coming on board and the expectation of more big name teams to come. I hope Clemson is one of the coveted additions.

To be fair, what would you expect him to say?

After the move I'm sure you'll hear him say otherwise.

, but I don't recall, "...coach who opine that the best ticket to a national football championship is a weak ACC conference".
Not saying you're wrong, I don't know, but can you link that?

Pretty sure the last game you played against the ACC was a 66-24 beatdown against Georgia Tech, no?

Yes Stanley, last year a miserable KU suffered a beat down at the hands of Georgia Tech and 9 other teams. Our coach delivered a 2-10 season and was fired. Kansas loses lots of football games. What is your point?
My point in the original post is that in 2007 lowly Kansas beat a very good ACC team in the Orange Bowl. On any given day or in any given season every Big 12 Team has the capacity to win on the big stage, even Kansas. KU was a top 10 team that year. Kansas has a new coach and hope springs eternal.

beating beamer at his own ball, fake punt and all; couldn't have happened to a nicer ahole than beamer.
if i'm not mistaken, this was the brandon ore game that finally got beamer censured by the gobblers in may of 2008 for hiding information that allowed ore to play in this game.
beamer couldn't even mislead his own university's CAP and win this game.
thanks again.
