I think most will agree that DW4 and TL16 were superstars that both won national championships for CU. Where does VC72 rank? She's already a national player of the year. Does she need to win a CWS to be compared to DW4 or TL16? IMHO she already ranks with both those in terms of greatness in their respective sports. Valerie came to a team that did not exist prior to her arrival. To take us to a CWS title is a big ask. Thoughts?

of her sport all rolled into 1. She may leave Clemson as the greatest Tiger athlete if this team wins the CWS.

She is a star in every respect hitting, pitching, fielding. Team fear her on the mound and at the plate. She may be the best and most complete softball player we ever have.

So does Men's Golf.

If Val added a championship she might trump all of them. Ousmane Sylla certainly in the discussion... 4 time All-ACC, Hermann Award winner, and 2x National Champion. As great as Watson and Lawrence were - neither was national POY like Sylla or Val Cagle. Cagle's only missing piece is the National Championship - if she pulled that one off she'd be an all-time Sports legend not only for Clemson, but for the history of College Sports. One could argue that she already is.

Apples and oranges. Success by a pitcher in baseball or softball is largely an individual while a QB1 must have a really good O Line and better than good running backs and receivers.
