They bring different things but he has improved more than Ship this year. It will be interesting to see the running back rotation the rest of the season.

I have known for years how good he was. He played at our local high school and watched him play for three years.

I’ve thought he was our best RB since their freshman year. Shipley just got most of the carries. I told my husband that in 2021.

Mafah would’ve been a fullback under Danny. Danny required his tailbacks to have the speed to get the edge on the triple option. Not ragging Mafah. He really impressed me with his vision today.

He is great running the ball. Shipley is better at pass pro and catching the ball. I am not the Coach but if I was I would play Shipley as a traditional 3rd down back when he comes back and continue to give Mafah 20 plus carries a game until it is not working. I would also keep Ennis on the field as much as I could. I don’t know if Briningstool is unwilling or incapable of being a good blocker. Great weapon as a receiver though.
