Cale Yarborough, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion in the 1970s, has died at the age of 84.

Yarborough's crowning achievements include four Daytona 500 victories and five Southern 500 wins.

Fir some reason I thought he passed away years ago. Guess I got him mixed up with another racer. He was a great driver and man.

when i was a cub scout he came to our troop for soap box car making.

my dad and cale were friends dad did most of his plumbing needs and when ever

saw cale he always aske about my dad hw was a class act and a good ambassador nascar.

he lived about 30 minutes from where i live in sardis s.c. and the honda dealership he owned was right down the street form me.

that era of nascar was what racing should be todays racing is crap!

If memory serves, his brother-in-law was the 1967 freshman class pres. Poker playing buddy of mine name Snooky Thigpen.
