when the next play Dabo had team perform the graceful knelling procedure?

Also, puzzled about SHiP coming back from that last run to the 5 yd line to the huddle and he kept patting his hand to his chest & extending it towards the team.

Or, Was that a gesture of thanks to them plus his way to say it was his fault that he didn’t score?

We needed the first down to have enough time to run out the clock. He accidentally went OOB stopping the clock but it didn’t matter. He was saying sorry for that, it’s on me but it didn’t matter

When he was patting his chest he was saying "my bad" for running out of bounds to stop the clock instead of just going down.

For not scoring and running out of bounds. Either score or go down in bounds to keep clock running. Ship and Mafha were awesome last night. We could have pounded them into submission if coaches had participated.

Ship was patting his chest to apologize for not staying in bounds. Once he got the 1st down, we could run out the clock and didn't need to score.

It would have been nice to see Ship get the TD on the last drive, but I'll take the win.

I think that was a Ship happens moment. I don’t think Dabo wanted him to do that? Dabo has great respect for Beamer. If you noticed they jerked Ship off the field after that effort, then realized he was wing man on the kneel down team and rushed him back on. I don’t think Dabo was mad at Ship but didn’t want him trying that again. Haha.

My recollection was we still needed a first down to fully run out the clock. There wouldn’t have been any way for SCar to win but we needed one more first down to get to keep them from taking over with a couple seconds left.
