QB situation

I still think DJ gives us the best chance to win through the air, even though he wasn’t accurate AT ALL in the Syracuse game. When Cade is in, the edge players can’t bunch up the middle as much because he can beat them to the edge. This makes the lanes bigger for Ship and Mafah during the handoffs up the middle.

Having said that, if you go back and look at the perfect pass DJ through flat footed to Antonio Williams, Cade cannot make that play. At least, not in that same situation. Cade has a tendency to bolt out of the pocket (like when he took a sack that he shouldn’t have because he out ran the pulling guard).

Both QBs give us a chance to win, and I am super excited about Cade; but I don’t think he is the best option unless DJ has a melt down like he did this past game. I don’t know what they look like at practice compared to each other, but it’s nice to have both of them!

Here we again for 2 weeks before we play again. Cade came in and handed the ball off to our backs that had really good blocking and we won the game. DJU is our QB when we take the field in South Bend. Will the stage be too big, we will find out on November 5.

But why couldn’t DJ just hand the ball off then? Couldn’t the same thing have happened running the same plays with DJ? Whether people on here want to deal with it or not, the starter was benched because of ineffectiveness and the backup led the team to a win. Hard facts. And because of those facts, there is now a good ole QB controversy.

No controversy. Because Dabo stated who is the starter on the team.

He was really really quick to point that out too. Almost sounded like coach speak. Nah, couldn’t be that. The controversy was created by DJ having a meltdown on the field. He was benched. Really not that hard to see what’s happening.

And it was great to see Cade get in there for crucial meaningful snaps with the game on the line!

The guy playing should be the one that gives Clemson the best chance to win.

Yesterday in the late stages of a big game, that player was Cade Klubnick.

We have two weeks ... and probably the first 2-3 series at Notre Dame to see where this all leads.

It’s comforting to know that the back up QB can come in to a close game and assure the Tigers of victory. I’m a Klubnik fan and I will continue to follow him closely because he is worthy of being called THE QB for the Tigers. We have two good ones. Many teams don’t have one.

I bet CK gets snaps in the next game.
