Qb James Barnes

He played a few snaps last year. Sc State game I believe. Is he returning and if so why no mention at all? I know he want compete but he is on the team.

Another site just has him mentioned on the roster list.

I didn't see him get any snaps this past season but I could be wrong. He's a walk on. Where were they supposed to mention him?

Last years depth chart was Watson, Schuess, then Bryant. Israel and Cooper dressed for games but they didn't play because they weren't needed. Cooper was reserved for redshirt. Even with Watson and Schuessler gone that still leaves 3 current and 2 incoming scholly players at the QB position. It's going to be hard for Barnes to beat out 5 scholarships, all with very good talent, in order to have a shot at playing. The roster will probably be full for 2017. But it won't be officially released until Speing. So there's still a chance, I guess.

He had 1 completion in the SC State game. I didn't expect him to compete and I was unaware that he was a walk on. Thanks

He is the brother of Charlie Barnes who is on the baseball team. His family is CLEMSON ORANGE. He is at least a third generation Clemson student. Could probably play on FCS level.
