Already, his superior education has contributed to a reasoned decision by Mr. Mickens.
In his leadership role as our Super Senior Safety starter, I am confident that he’ll be an All-ACC player this coming season, and that he’ll get a shot at the NFL in 2025.
R.J.Mickens is a really fine player. Clemson is very fortunate to have him lead our team for another year.

Congratulations RJ for your degree and for your maturity. He's got nfl aspirations and kudos to Dabo for talking to him honestly.
But it was really a no brainer because there's a pretty good group of safeties going into the draft and mickens projections were in the 190s... late 5th or 6th round. He should most certainly improve that grade next season.
Wonder if we'll have a transfer with him coming back.

I'm sure that if Mickens was just coming out of HS with the coaching he has had at the college level with the experience, he would be a high 5 star player.

Folks, all the pieces seem to be falling right back into place for another run to the pinnacle of prosperity for which we are known. I can hardly wait for this team to come in and show the rest of the college football world that "Little Old Clemson" has gone nowhere but back to the forefront. Keep looking up! That's where we are headed for a long run, yet again. Go Tigers!!! Oh, and BTW, we have a new class coming in that will fill in a lot of the holes we had in the last few years. Stay tuned! I just barely watch the NFL anymore and truthfully I’ve always preferred the college game and even high school football to the pros. If for no other reason than that, I’m glad he’s returning. College foods just way more fun.

With alll the freshman DBs getting significant minutes this 2023 season, coupled with 2024 return decisions from Barrett Carter and RJ Mickens, and hopefully a bounce back from injury by Tyler Venables, and hopefully some contributions from some of the freshman mid-years coming in, 2024 promises to be as good or better than 2023 !!
