First, a big thank you to Blacksburg (and Christiansburg where we stayed). The people were welcoming and friendly all weekend. The Hokie fans near our tailgate (we scored a spot in a booster lot, right next to the stadium) were fabulous. More than a couple came over to chat and share a bite to eat. Several folks even came over to help us set up our satellite. The only people that got on my nerves all weekend were a couple of punks from Clemson being obnoxious during the game.
Great atmosphere. I'm glad Clemson is now the "big game" on a lot of teams schedule. They pulled out all the stops - the Maroon effect, the skydivers, etc. I see Va Tech as being where we were years ago - good coach, good facilities and decent players that have to do a little something extra to pull off an upset of the big boys. If they start getting the recruits, they'll be in it for the long haul.
I hope to see these guys again in December. They're good football fans with a gorgeous school that reminds me a lot of Clemson. Wish we played them every year.
