There are numerous scenarios involving Big12, B1G, ND, etc. that could push someone OUT. The someone will not be #1.
We need to protect our margin of error.

I'm not scared of Bama but would rather play a 4 seeded team and then let Ohio state and Bama fight it out for the spot in the NC against us.

Which is sad considering Arky just upstaged Bama's win over LSU which vaulted them from #4 to #2. And Arky did it on the road.

matter to the preseason polsters. What if the #1 team from a 201? champion graduated EVERY single player from its team. Do you think the AP or Coaches Poll will have them #1 at the beginning of the next season? #### yes!
