Playoff Chair Logic

Nov 12, 2014, 7:28 AM

Did anyone else have a problem understanding the Playoff Chairs logic on the head to head with TCU and Baylor. He said the body of work was what they looked at more than head to head. So with that logic lets say both Ms State and FSU run the table and play undefeated in the Championship. Lets then say FSU beast MS and wins the head to head. According to the logic of the body of work Miss State should be awarded the National championship based on their body of work and not the head to head. Bring back the stinkin BCS!!

Do you think Arizona should be in over Oregon?***

No because Arizona has 2 losses so that point isn't valid. Baylor and TCU are both 1 loss teams and the example i used with fsu and ms are both undefeated teams.

Oh, so now you are saying that other games besides

Nov 12, 2014, 7:37 AM

the head-to-head matchup do matter. Your first post seems to indicate the opposite.

No simply saying head to head with equal records should matter more than a teams body of work. And if Marshall had beaten one of the top teams head to head they should definatly be considered for the playoff. And the only game that TCU has over Baylor right now in their body of work is a win over Minn. So from your logic if Baylor and TCU both win out TCU should get in with their big win against a lower tier Big 10 team?

TCU also has a win over K-State that Baylor doesn't, yet.***

If Baylor wins out, the situation changes completely

Nov 12, 2014, 8:29 AM

from what it is now. That hasn't happened yet. TCU hasn't won out, either.

Maybe you consider only # of losses when comparing resumes?

Nov 12, 2014, 7:46 AM [ in reply to Re: Do you think Arizona should be in over Oregon?*** ]

If that is the case, I assume you have Marshall in your 4-team playoff right now?

No, TCU lost to Baylor. Baylor got smoked by WVU.

Nov 12, 2014, 8:32 AM

TCU lost to a better team.

Yeah, Baylor!! Head to Head!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah but Baylor beat TCU. That trumps whatever loss Baylor

Nov 12, 2014, 9:13 AM [ in reply to No, TCU lost to Baylor. Baylor got smoked by WVU. ]

has.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why? Both have a loss, TCU lost a better team.***
