I don't care much for minor league sports.

I'm down to golf and college football. Golf might be the only thing I have left.

Can't help but think we're going to see a tiered system evolve instantly that has absolutely nothing to do with college.

There's an old rule called the "law of unintended consequences." My guess is we see a lot of that. I suspect the obvious immediate consequence is, we see a few players at the top prosper and get better deals, but for the most part overall it will result in a more lopsided sport, poorer academic results for the student athlete, and far more concerns beyond getting an education, and a whole lot of mess and train wrecks along the way, and far more damage overall than benefit.

You throw money in the mix, everything tends to get about that, real fast. And I can tell you now is the absolute worst time to do it, like, ever. Every college athletics program in America is literally gutted to the bone right now thanks to losing a year of gate on their revenue-generating sports due to COVID, and some won't be doing sports next year as a result.

Go ahead. I’ve already lost interest in nearly all of it.

Didn’t watch a single college basketball game this year. Maybe a few minutes of our women’s soccer team in the tournament. Probably ten Clemson football games but no other games. Just not interesting anymore. The game has passed this old man by. Maybe the younger generation will really get into the players on their team monetizing their social media and thanking Doritos new cheesy habanero flavor for giving them the extra burst to get into the end zone. ESPN can have a show devoted to college players new contracts...maybe feature a “earnings tracker” like they do a Heisman watch. Better click on more TL posts...he’s slipping in earnings against Mac Jones and that’s going to look bad to recruits.

It’s simply not fun to watch a bunch of guys this entitled play sports, to me.

I've learned there are more enjoyable things to do on the weekends.

I've lost interest for multiple reasons over the past few years, and I'm glad I did.

Love It! Power to the Players! End racist exploitation!

Not really _ just playing the contrarian role. Candidly, seems that there are a lot of potential pitfalls that could have unintended and mostly adverse consequences.

i think they should be able to go professional at 18 years old, being a free person in 'Murica

and they should be able to play college ball if they dont make it in the NFL, if they meet the requirements of any other student

young, rich, paying a ton of taxes, just stay away from those massage parlors full of evil womenz

It's one of those things where I think the right thing

to do is adverse to my personal enjoyment of sports. So, while I wish college sports would remain close to what they are, I do think my opinion is self-serving.
