Perspective, good and bad.

We won. ### it, WE WON! That's the main thing, but somehow it gets lost in all of the analyzing. If we keep winning, we will still get the Orange Bowl and finish highly ranked.

We won a brutal, hard fought, ugly game against a good opponent. You've got to be able to suck it up and win those, and we are light years ahead of the Bowden years in that regard when it seemed we couldn't do that to save our lives.

We had some great individual performances today. How about that defense? We had a couple of breakdowns, but overall our defense was just lights out. This is a 1980s kind of Clemson defense. Superstars all over the place, suffocating and dominating. I love it. How about Jayron Kearse? Great googly-moogly he was a beast today! How about Grady Jarrett always wreaking havoc and plugging up the middle? How about Peters and Alexander not only shutting down the pass but making plays to stop the run? How about Vic Beasley constantly pressuring the QB and getting the sack record? And how about Ben Boulware? He stepped up big-time and had a huge day!

On offense we were just anemic for most of the day, but let me say something about Cole Stoudt. He is not the QB that Watson is, but who is? Yes, he struggled and was abysmal at times. Consider however, he was hurt all week, took ZERO snaps in practice, and had a shot to relieve the pain just before the game. In spite of some costly bad decisions and bad throws, he played better once he shook off the rust and got into a rhytm, an it was a very gutsy performance and he deserves our respect for that. He's gonna be our guy for the next few games, and we should all get behind him.

Our already thin O-Line, which was just starting to get it together, was hit with a rash of injuries last week and had a tough day for the most part. They too pulled it together toward the end and helped get us in position to score. I thought Adam Choice ran hard and Artavis Scott and Jordan Leggett had good games.

Still, there is just no excuse for not getting a TD when we have first and goal at the one-foot line. No excuse whatsoever, especially when it's happened before. Maybe we do need to go under center; that seems logical, but it's really beside the point. Somehow, some way, we have to get six in that situation. This falls directly on the shoulders of Chad Morris, and ultimately on Dabo. This WILL come back to bite us if we don't get it fixed. I think Louisville had a lot to do with our overall pitiful offensive performance, but I can't blame it all on that. We just did not play well on that side of the ball, and we have some work to do to insure that it doesn't happen again (Chad).

One last bright spot was Ammon Lakip. Confidence is everything for a kicker, and today was huge for him. He's obviously got the leg, he just needs to keep making the easy ones, and I think he will be a good one. He alone gave us the points we needed on offense today.

In the end, we won. Let's celebrate the victory, learn from the mistakes, and win the next one.

good post. as to the short yardage it is biting us because we havent gotten it fixed. we are at mid season. could it get fixed- yes. will it? very unlikely. we are rotten close to the goal line. the closer the more rotten. we do a number of things better but not that and you know it gets attention

a very good D-Line. Still, our OL has been our weak link all year. I'm not sure if it's coaching or recruiting. I suspect it's a combination of the two. We have recruited as good as anybody at the skill positions, but not quite at that level on the OL, and it shows. Our recruiting there has not been bad, just not up to the level of the rest of the team. Looks like we might be headed in the right direction with the incoming class.

Excellent perspective.

On one note in particular: there is no excuse for QBs that are not comfortable taking the snap directly under center. Especially, when there is already an established short yardage problem.

Loved watching Choice run. Give him the majority of the snaps in practice and let's see what happens.

poorly executing offense as shown tonight. The one observation I am worried about is that not having a mobile QB severely exposes our lack of a rushing game. My only complaint aside from the obvious first and goal problem is that if the wide receivers knew Stoudt's condition they should CATCH THE D@MN BALL(s) that hit them in stride.

Yes, we dropped a few today.***

Amen. And it's a lot better than losing!

Here's to Lakip! He did good today!

We do have to fix this sad goal line situations. The D was awesome. Kearse and Boulware are beasts
