peanuts and the far side are my 2 fav cartoon series.don't seem to be around much anymore.fortunately i have anthologies of both and refer to them whenever i want a good laugh.schulz must have had a lucy-like sister which i have as well, and i've always identified with linus.kinda surprised that schulz's dog was a wire fox terrier.would have expected him to have a beagle.

hard bound, heavy duty two volume "Complete Far Side" awhile back. Larsen sure did have an obsession with cave men and cows, not necessarily in that order. But, one of my favorites had neither. Picture a bunch of buzzards, sitting on a rhino carcass. The caption reads something like this:

"Here we sit atop this dead, bloated rhino, hot sun beating down, good friends flying in from all over. I tell you, these are the Best of Times!"

I had the privilege of meeting him back in the mid-90s in Santa Rosa, CA where he lived. My compamy was a sponsor for a golf tournament he was hosting to raise funds for the purchase of a new radiation therapy system that we wound up selling to the hospital. I got to spend some time with his daughter who played right in front of us. She was cool and very nice. He was a very humble man and as genuine as he could be.
