Paul Johnson ... One dirty Mutha

Oct 6, 2012, 1:14 PM

I'd love to see what happened to Paterno and Weiss some years back happen to pj. His blocking style is not only dirty but causes career ending injuries. NCAA has ruined kick returns (unless its Clemsons special teams) to avoid high speed collisions but they allow blocks in the back and gt's crap? See below:
"It is obviously very easy for an offensive lineman to make a block on a defensive lineman by chopping him at the line of scrimmage. But with the amount of injuries that have occurred over the years from cut blocks, rules have changed making the cut block at the line of scrimmage illegal and will result in a penalty.

Cut blocks are also illegal to perform against a player that is already engaged in a block with another player. Meaning, if I'm a wide receiver or offensive lineman or running back and I'm looking to make a block for someone on my team, I can not intentionally go at the feet of a defender who is already being blocked".
Look at how many times the upstanding acc refs allow this today. I pray we don't loose a lineman due to this cheap crap.

Cut blocks are not illegal.

And while you'd think there would be injuries associated with them, there really is no evidence.

angry for getting cut blocked. They said he is very mild tempered but was cursing a storm mad. I hate the cut blocks and anything that goes for a guys knees
