took the battery to AutoZone to be checked. He attached the machine to it and laughed. Dead AF. $210 later I have a new battery in Big Red and she is humming. Cranked every time I tried in the last 18 hours. Now to get her registered in NC to be street legal and take her to the car wash to get her de-pollened (for an hour or two).
Thanks for all the help, I am sure I will be asking for more help in the not-too-distant future.

Don’t see a $15k bath on a trade in and think “I can absorb that”. They see $15k that could be $100+k in 30 years and think “is swapping vehicles worth $100k to me?”
It’s a mindset I have not possessed for much of my life, and have been trying to adopt more of it for a while.

I could afford lower deck tickets, but would only pay for upper deck. The danger is being so far that way you dont allow yourself to enjoy things.
Thankfully, undrr McLuvs influence, i got to experience several playoff games and a Natty in person. If it wasnt for him, i wouldnt have gone and experienced that.

I will be frugal on thongs i dont care about... which is a lot.
The things i do care about... i know what i want, how much to get it. At that point, i either have it or not.... if that makes sense... i will spend money to get what i want when i care.

Have you traded in the Tacoma yet to keep up with him? Have you asked him if he will get you a new GMC Denali 3500?

to check the washing machine pump on Saturday. Satisfied with my purchase and was able to test it, but didn't actually help solve the issue. Electrically, pump is fine but I think it is mechanically ######. Or I'm hoping so, cause I found a replacement online for $25.

Was whether the pump was getting the correct voltage from the control board when the drain process started. If it was, bad pump. If it wasn’t, bad board.

myself around electricity enough to test that on running machine. Also this machine doesn't have option to start cyle where you want, so couldn't really test it on a disassembled machine.
I did test continuity through the pump (per specific instructions I found online) and it was good. Impeller doesn't spin freely - even considering magnetic resistance - so I think that is issue. Maybe. TBD.

It lasted 8 years. It was the OEM in the 2008 4runner we still have. The 1st interstate battery that replaced lasted about 2 years, and was replaced under warranty for another one, that last about 3 years and then gave absolutely no notice that it was dying, and left her at the convenience store 1/2 mile from the house. That battery was so dead I couldn't even jump start it.

on the beach at night like last time OR wife be stuck out there without me. Also, not go most expensive because it is just a beach truck and I have a decent jumper thanks to the other Jounge suggestions.
$190 + tax felt really expensive though, not gonna lie. Google tells me I could have gone about $135ish with a non-name brand battery.

you feel any better. I, too, buy name brand batteries and I usually get 5-6 years out of them. I'm OK with paying a little more. At the end of the day, the cost difference is less than taking your family to Chick Fil A, just to put things in perspective.
My boat batteries are 9.5 year old Interstate batteries. Who knows how much longer they have, but I'm certainly not going to cheap out when it's time to replace. Why? Cause I got 9 fuggin years out of the name brand batteries.

Sometimes we make it work by just ordering a 30 count and fighting over the nugs like a bunch of animals. Someone usually doesn't get enough, and it's usually me, but at least I don't have to hear about wanting chick fil a again for a week or so.
Yesterday we went to the bar down the street and had bottomless mimosas, 6 Coors Lights, a burger plate, chicken fingers/fries, an omelet with hash browns and that was cheaper than a Chick Fil A run. Plus they have games for kids to play so mama and daddy can get their drank on. Hard to rationalize taking the whole fam through the drive thru anymore.

About 5 yrs ago my battery died. Stopped at one in the Cola area and was given a price of $200+. I'm like dayum, ya'll got something cheaper? Was told batteries are getting more expensive. A bit of prying later, they put one in for like $80 all the while MFing it saying it's a terrible battery and I'd regret it. Whatevs.
Fast forward to about 2 months ago. Same sitch. Stop at one in the Gville area. SAME THING. Same party line, had to work HARD to get them to tell me they had one for $80. Went on about how they don't recommend it. I'm like yo, slap it in and F-off. Was told the same edzach thang 5 yrs ago and here we are.
Must be part of the Autozone training manual. I never thot they were like that but here we are.
