Our 2014 class is looking stocked but 2015?

Jul 22, 2013, 10:29 PM

recruiting this day is 24/7 365. Coaches are now recruiting middle schoolers. We have a good 2014 class coming. But shouldnt we start concerning with 2015 to? USUC has a better 2015 class than there 2014 class and it has only 4 players lol. But they are all 80+ overall. Should 2015 be a concern?

Don't worry about 2015. Coaches recruit for this cycle as well as the next few in advance. We already have offers out for 2015 and 2016 and probably one or two 2017 guys. With the 2014 class having limited numbers and most of them being occupied already, the coaches are targeting a few more players for this class but have already started looking hard at the next cycle at this point.

I trust our coaches with recruiting and we have a good shot at some good guys already. I would expect us to still have a top 10-15 class and our numbers are starting to open up so we will be able to take about 25 again this season.

5* Mitch Hyatt is the #1 OT in the country in the early 2015 rankings and has Clemson as his favorite. I like our chances with him.
5* George Campbell is a 6'5" WR with a sub 4.4 40 time, a Martavis Bryant type. Has Clemson in his group of favorites.
4* Albert Huggins from Orangeburg is considered a Georgia lean thus far but has SCar and Clemson in his top group as well.
4* Shy Tuttle, a DT out of North Carolina is high on Clemson and UNC. I think we have a good chance for him.
4* Mekhi Brown is still an Alabama commit but has visited Clemson and is probably more of a soft commit right now. I don't know about our chances but he's a good one.
4* Johnathan Sutton is a OLB from Swansea HS, considered a Clemson lean.

Shameik Blackshear is a good DE, probably the best weakside guy in the 2015 class and he is USC's top commit, but the guys I listed are all in the top 75 and are listed as high or higher than USC's other commits. Don't fret. After Clowney I expect South Carolina to reload on the defensive line, everyone wants to be "the next Clowney" just like we will get some commits from kids who are hoping to be "the next Sammy" or "the next Tajh."
