Wow - Colin Herd just said on his show he fully expects the OU job to be available after this season - basically saying they whiffed on hiring BV and that after they continue to get dusted by Baylor, Iowa St, Ok St.....that he's done. Guy is an idiot. No way does OU fire BV after just 1 season. Doesn't he have a top 10 class coming in? Riley left him with nothing. Give him 2-3 years to get his guys in. But def won't get easier for him when he heads to SEC.

Would Clemson nation welcome him back with open arms and if so, what about Wes?

If its true that BV is let go, then you can expect to see him at Bama or UVA or possibly SoFla if Scott is retained.

BV has a name and rep so he wont do without. It maybe tough for him to come back to Clemson. Probably it would not be worthwhile to us. Its hard to re capture lost magic. Much easier to let Wes build his brand.

what would another coach think if any coach was fired after 1 year....

If they dusted him after one year it would kill their recruiting and their current crop would be heading for the exits. Colin is just clickbait comments to attract more eyeballs for his show. OK has to ride it out for at least a couple of years and that might be enough time for BV to right the ship. I do wonder if he will make any coaching changes in the post-season if things don't improve in the 2H of this season.

BV didn't inherit a CFP caliber program. A lot of their players bailed and followed LR to Southern Cal.

The rebuilding effort is going to take some time. While that isn't going to make them feel any better about this past weekend beatdown, it is the reality of the situation and the current status of their program.
