one of 13 teams in the nation with one or zero losses? There are 9 one-loss teams, including Clemson, and 4 undefeated teams. Yeah, I know, we all hoped to be in the CFP again, and got spoiled with going to it every year for several in a row. We ain't dead yet!

People are pretending Clemson lost in a close one or something.

It’s not a loss. It’s an annihilation. We got our ##### kicked, in every phase, from the very start of the game. The only cure is to convincingly beat Louisville on Saturday. Until Clemson does that, this nonsense needs to stop.

Yep, we got pretty well hammered, and not in a good "I got hammered Saturday night" kinda college kid way.
One thing about this staff that we learned last year is they figured out how to adapt. I remember at the beginning of the season when we had 3 losses and everybody was saying we might not even be bowl eligible, but they figured things out - well enough, anyway - and we finished strong. A lot stronger than anyone thought we would.
I've no doubt that the butt-whooping we took Sat night also smacked around the coaching staff quite a bit and I imagine there will be some very animated meetings this week amongst them. We had enough bend-but-not-break games, until we had a "break" game. I don't see us losing again. One way or another, they'll get it figure out. Somehow. (I've no idea how. But I don't get paid $10 million a year to figure those things out. I actually PAY a few bucks a month to chat about it!)

Why would it have had to come to that? We have struggled virtually every game over the past 2+ seasons. With top 10 class talent....against ~40-50 class range talent. Something is broken. It shouldnt have taken Saturday night for the coaches to see it.

Two week to prepare

That's why I'm upset. Two weeks to prepare for them and we looked completely unprepared. That's not being spoiled. If ND got lucky and caught a few breaks and sqeaked out a win that would be one thing. They beat our unprepared brains in! Simple as that. I pray we never get used to that.

I spent good money and time to watch the Tigers get that rear ended handed to them by the domers. I am waiting on my flight to get home right now. I am a half glass full person but, Saturday night was painful to watch. I understand what you are saying. I love that team as much as anybody. But, “Houston we have a problem.”.

It's not about one loss or not making

Playoff. From about the third game on I knew we weren't a playoff team and if somehow got in we would have been destroyed. We are a nothing special average team and not getting any better. We have played some of the worst offensive and defensive football I have seen. We have looked very bad in each of the eight wins. We have two five star qbs yet no qbs. I see quarterbacks and offenses all day long better than ours. We have a second year five star offensive linemen that has played 27 snaps. Appearanyly we can't develop him enough to relieve a starter for one snap at Notre Dame, or many other games. We have one of the most talented defensive lines in the nation and give up 263 yards rushing. It's not about losing. We should have lost many more last year and this year. If something doesn't change with position coaches, we will no longer get the level of recruits we have now. Do you think Kansas should have a better offense than us, or Duke? Well they do. What do you think Drake Maye would be doing for us? I think one series if that per game on our own ten yard line. And coaches would be talking about " bringing him along".
