to catch it, actually looked like he tried to avoid touching it. Noticed that myself watching it on the way home after the game.

Yes. We just finished watching the TV version and I saw that too. The referee closest to him didn’t throw his hat so I’m not sure if they would have gotten the call right. Worked out ok as is.
