Sorry, way off topic but does impact my football money.

I received my auto insurance bill today and it’s up over 14%! I knew Bidenomics were bad but jeez. So I called (company with the little lizard spokesperson) and this is what I was told: “I know it is never easy when there is an increase. Upon review, this was not caused by anything that you have done as a driver. The rate increased at renewal just due to an overall increase in your area (due to things like car labor, parts and medical costs for claims in your area in SC).” I did ask for the number for the SC Insurance Commion to voice my concern and displeasure.

Anyone else seeing dramatic increases in auto insurance premiums? I can’t even bundle as they don’t write home insurance in my area of the Lowcounty.

I’m not sure I’ll have enough fixed income to ride through much more of such increases!

Meanwhile,

GO TIGERS!

Yup, GEICO pulled the same with me. I switched to progressive. I had been with them since 2012. Got the same BS when I called.

Good luck. From what I’ve read online you almost have to switch providers every couple of years now. I guess loyalty doesn’t pay off anymore.

Can’t stick with phone, tv, internet or insurance companies.
Their business plan is, “we’re gonna stick it to our customers that are loyal to us”.
You gotta move to get a fair rate…..loyalty will be punished.

Yes, I had a 30% jump in Arizona. It also is based on a formula of past year claims and costs paid out in each state. AZ has the one of the highest accident rates among all states per capita.

AZ is the Wild West. I think it was about 12-13 yrs. ago that AZ pulled in over 3.5 billion$$$ in DUI fines alone in one year. And I contributed to that number. However, ASU is a pretty good school, but...

$3.5 billion with a B in fines? Not physically possible even if they collected 24/7, weekends and holidays. That is all.

It’s really just an extension of inflationary pressures across the board: pay, benefits and cost to repair are all up just like every, single corner of this economy. It’s all man made too with the initial spark being artificial increase in gas and oil which then rippled through food and transportation costs and finally labor and materials. I think we all know how to reverse the trend but it may not be up to us any more.

Mine was up more than that. It is about losses (fires, tornadoes, hurricanes) more than economics.

Call (803) 584-4311. Allendale Farm Bureau.

Ask for Will Lemon (that’s me).

All of my walk-in customers are coming from Geico. Apparently we’ve been way lower on premiums. We sell Progressive too, and they are much higher than Farm Bureau as well.

Wait until you need to renew your home owners insurance. Mine went up $400/mo after shopping around for new providers. All the money I saved from refinancing my mortgage is going right back out of my pocket.

Just a suggestion.....

I did this a couple of years ago when my rates went up....Call them back and ask them to go through every single discount they offer. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I don't remember all of them but I got a discount for being a Costco member, a AAA member, joining an affinity group (at least for them - NASCAR), I even got a discount for being a Clemson graduate. Granted, they weren't huge but all together they made a nice dent in the increase. This is Nationwide, not Geico but maybe they're similar.

If you’re a good driver, try Root Insurance. They’re app-based and use telematics to monitor your driving habits to build a quote. They cater to good drivers, and you’ll get a lower rate if you are one.
