Offense is fun to watch but it doesn't win games.

It's not Dabo that brought us back from 6-7, its chad morris. Dabo is just a mouth piece that cheerleads. I hardly agree with chad morris's offense either due to the fact when a good defense is played it all goes down the drain. If the offense cant get in rhythm it's a quick 3 and out and our defense is back on the field causing fatigue. The same way oregon lost to stanford and we lost to Usuck. fast paced high powered offense leads to more defense on the field and its hard for even the most in shape defense to play a full four quarters like this. One of the same reasons kevin steele had a horrible defense after chad morris took over on offense (even though we lost alot of players) I still think he is better that venebles. Our defense went from a top 15 defense to a 50 or 60 something defense. Fast paced offense works to make fans oooo and ahhh but not to go all the way. Auburn is the only exception to this but the stars aligned for them and the SEC wasn't what it was bama was 9-3 that year and auburn played every game from behind and almost lost every week, same with Oregon. Remember offense fills seats defense wins games, but we will not have a good defense with up tempo offense. It's just a fad that will fade.

2 losses against the Coots and a loss where we set the record for most points given up in the history of bowl games. Yet you applaud this style. You don't get it and never will

You don't get it. 20+ years of watching us flounder in the ACC.

I hate to lose. Hate it. But we are moving forward despite the loss to a top-ranked USuC team.
You just need some old-school Clemson backbone. Buck up and stand tall behind the Tigers.

Exactly. I try to explain this to my fellow Clemson fans but they never get it and get mad at me. Our style of play is tailor made for the Coots. We need to get back to playing defense, running the ball and playing physical. This up tempo throw it around crap is now going to get us where we need to be

and lost to the only two ranked teams we played. Our biggest win according to the BCS is Ball State yet you are ok with that

I really hope this LB that transferred from OK is the real deal, because boy it would be nice. I also think getting "FLEA" back next year will help the secondary some.

dabo failed with his BV hire imo

he will never produce the type of defense we need to be competitive against strong SEC teams imo. If we don't score a ton on offense, we're screwed in every game. There is no leeway for the offense at all. Spurrier seems to get great DC's every time. We can't buy one, literally

yes, I wasn't expecting miracle from him this yr

but I also wasn't expecting 430/yds per game. He improved our running D, but our passing D got exponentially worse. I thought he was a bad hire at the time, and this yr just proved my thoughts. I know he won't get fired for 2 more yrs and I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see it. He may get us down to 390 yds/game in 2 yrs. yeah!

The defense is the key to our offense

A&M proved it can work against the powerful SEC defenses but we have to get our defense up to where it needs to be and force some three and out on the other side. I think BV will do well when he gets players that can work in his system. rmember this is his first year and we had a depleted secondary. We were getting better against the run but we were picked apart on the passing plays. We need to get pressure without having to go into man coverage. It hurt to lose Sat. but we will be better next year. The offense will be even better next year with it being the second year for the O-line. We will have 4 returning starters not just one like this year.
