Offense

Poor game plan, poor play calling, poor line play. We develop a lot of positions, but never linemen.

There is an obvious problem on our OL. Is it coaching thing or talent issue. If we had an OL on par with other.top programs, you could pencil us im for a NC every year. The run blocking was terrible last season but this one was deplorable. Pass protection was not good either. The OL has been the worst position group year in year out.

Might be a bit of both coaching and talent. We VERY rarely send any OL t9 the NFL? Whe we have top shelf talent come in they seldom improve beyond the level they came with. We just do not develop O linemen. Mitch Hyatt started at LT as a true freshman and was impressive. He never got any better over the next three years and went undrafted. Jackson Carmen came in
too heavy and took time to get him where he needed to be. But you could see the potential. Did he get any better?

Sometimes one if our guys will get some notoriety, even make All-Acc team but in reality they are really just not that good......John Simpson.Always getting kudos but drew more penalties than the rest 9f thd line combined. He was always good for a couple holding calls a game.

We will continue to have a tough time when we face a good DL. If the opponent's LB's ha e speed, even more so. If a 3 man front is constantly getting pressure in the backfield with little to no need of help from the back seven. The linebackers are flying around making plays with no fear of getting burned. The front 3 are getting so much pressure the secondary only has to cover for a couple seconds. Linebackers are running free and the DL coach can't afford to stunt, twist or blitz.

This is going to continue until changes are made. They should call Danny Ford and get him to come coach the OL maybe instill some fire in them.

Defense looks like they are for real. I think this is the best tackling game I have ever seen.
