7 current ACC teams plus Notre Dame as a tie-breaker

(partial member is + side) should be sufficient to dissolve the ACC. A simple majority of members.

I haven't seen much in the journalism or official realm to shed light on that potentiality. Seems like that would be initial league charter territory unless amendments have happened since.

What gives?

More likely Mag 7 + Uncle Lou in my humble opinion.

Notre Dame has zero motivation

To dissolve the ACC and plenty of reason to keep it alive .

Yep. Zero incentive for ND to exit for non football sports.

If ND wants to stay Ind in FB they would be better served to be in Big East in all other sports

It primarily with the exception of UConn an all Catholic Conf, competitive in Basketball & Basball and I think has Hockey

Fair points.

I enjoy Notre Dame being an Independent in college football. They get a national schedule and with their heavy with the ACC lately it's only boosted our, Clemson's, stock when we're on the right side of the ledger.

The B1G would absolutely take them in for other sports if the ACC capsized, and they'd be better off with it - geography, travel, old timers - plus a big bump from the B1G network over the ACC's payout, even at the 20% level assigned for non-pigskin. They won't have any problem filling a football schedule remaining outside of the conferences there, and getting paid for it.

That national schedule is at

Risk. Once the conference-changing has settled, ND will have a tough time lining up a credible schedule. The big 2, or 3, conferences will dominate the landscape...and not the first one of them will have a vested interest in helping the Domer's collection plate.

FSU is carrying the banner for loudly voicing their intentions...rest assured others feel the same way...and FSU know who they are, not that it matters.

No conference is walking away from the Nike cash-cow out West. If Phil has to bridge the gap, so be it...Ducks will quack in the B1G soon enough.

No school will be kicked from their current conference, unless they're handsomely compensated for essentially giving up football. Radical, but I suppose it could happen. Incentive matter$...and addition by subtraction is viable at times.

A lot of law firms stand to make plenty of moolah once the bridesmaids are identified in this shake-out...and, naturally, Congress will wind up in the middle, too.

Messy, messy landscape getting messier.
