Notable observations and improvements this game

- Wes learned his lesson: I don't remember us rushing any more than 5 guys all game. I know he likes to bring pressure and be aggressive, but he's finally realized we just don't have the personnel on the outside to play that way. Our strength is the DL. If we can't get home with 4 or 5 then we're just going to lose. We simply cannot leave our corner unprotected again. Gone are the old BV "House blitz" days.

-Personnel adjustments: Fred Davis notably didn't play at all. Pride has moved ahead of him on the depth chart. Hopefully he uses the demotion for motivation. We also saw very little Spector this game. Antonio is just better and makes our offense better.

-Playcalling creativity: Although I thought we ran the QB a little too much, we no longer run 5 or 6 WR screens a game like during he Elliot years. I've seen a lot of nice passing concepts this year. Some have hit and some have not (Beaux is good, but he drops too many potential big plays), but there are definitely more creative ideas being showcased. We even ran a stop and go with the TE (it would have work much better with Brinny instead of Allen though). That would have never been in a Clemson offense in the past IMO.

We have the horses to blitz.

They just weren't healthy and in the game. The coaching adjustments at half time were as good as you will ever see.

I suspect you will see that blitz return when health returns to our missing secondary and linemen.

I think that you have a right to your opinion, its just incorrect. When we get back healthy, (dbs) this will allow us to blitz. I believe the two you called out were held out of the game to heal. We do not have the luxury to not play them. They have to alternate these guys simply to keep them fresh.JMO

Listen to Dabo's post game presser (last 2 or 3 mins)

He said it himself. Fred was demoted. Just go watch the tape. Also, you're blind if you don't think Antonio deserves 80-90% of the snaps ahead of Spector. Lastly, the addition of Sheridan Jones isn't enough for this CB group to play a heavy amount of Press man coverage. They don't have the speed (aside from Nate), awareness, nor experience (even Sheridan has not has success over the years playing man). Press bail and Zone plays to their strengths (which Dabo also mentioned in the presser).

I posted a while back about the overall lack of speed in the secondary (must notably Davis). I know Davis was highly rated but he's probably a two-star recruit if you reevaluated. I feel bad for him thats football, you know?

I think Pride might actually be pretty good. He's fast just needs experience.

We really miss Andrew.
