As much as I dislike the guy, he was successful while at USC. Sure he never delivered the conference championship, but he made them relevant and whipped us 5 years straight. He kept the rivalry fires stoked with his comments and kept USC in the headlines over at ESPN. I'm sure his goals were higher, but you can't say that he didn't take them to new heights. Of course all of that said, USC's football history is so sad that 3 11 win seasons count for major successes even without conference championships.
