Not sold on Garrett Riley...

A lot of people are saying that they are not sold on Garrett Riley as offensive coordinator and that we look like the same old Clemson. He said it best when he said that it doesn't look like TCU because it's different personel, different athletes, different situations. This is his 1st year implementing his style here. Did you really think that it was automatically going to destroy all teams right off the back? Remember when Dabo first took over, a lot of people didn't want him as the coach because he had no head coaching experience. We finished his first year decent then had an awful next year. But, those of us who believed waited patiently for Dabo's system to take effect and we got two National championships out of it. We have become too spoiled and impatient over the years as fans. One thing you must remember in life, you can't have and appreciate the good times if you don't ever have any bad times. Give the man a chance and just maybe we see something special begin to happen.

I agree most of these ppl have no idea what they are watching … tcu ran a lot of the same type of stuff maybe diff formations but they also had a very veteran team … it’s a new system with a very inexperienced qb learning on the fly… an average at best OL and no upper class men leadership in the WR room. Most of our playmakers are very young. And while we have good backs none have a threat of housing a 70 yarder… as cade develops the offense will continue to evolve. Statistically this offense is way better than the last couple years and if you cut out the turnovers and we are 6-0 nobody is talking or having ####### comments like below …

either by Dabo in a small way OR the media OR by us fans that needed an OC savior.
Yep, a bit of disappointment here but understand he’s not gotten to select his own staff or players that fit his needs.
2024 will tell us & him how it’s going year 2.

At the end of the day, all offenses run probably 90% of the same plays but motion and shifts make them look a little different. Riley had Kentucky Derby studs at TCU and we do not. Now that Brown is involved and we get Williams back, things will look different but because Cade is still just learning, we have to have success running the ball. The only thing I would like to see different are some jet sweeps with Brown.

The people not sold on Riley

Are the same people that believe the Dabo coach speak. They think this team is as talented as the 2016 team because Dabo said it.
With the exception of Brown, and Williams. I don’t think anyone on this offense would see significant playing time at another top 10 school. Klubnik is good and will get better going forward but he would only see limited time if there were a solid upper class man.

When exactly did Chad Morris sell you that he was legit?
Guarantee you it wasn’t until mid-season at least in 2011.

occurring at this point in the relationship, they would understandably be found from Riley's perspective. Anything suggesting Riley is the culprit, from Clemson's viewpoint hints strongly at scapegoating, a "red herring". Although many of you "hasidics", the true believers, the hive minded zombie hoard (aka)24/7"convert or die"sunshine pumpers would swallow such a narrative without pause hook, line, & sinker—

BV was 6-7 last year playing mostly with someone else's players. You know, the ones who didn't run to So Cal with their coach. This year he has more of his recruits and his culture and he is off to a great start. I feel like Riley kind of needs the same time and transition and he eventually gets what he needs to fully execute his offense.
