This is true...but it can also be bad for Clemson. Having FSU left out only reflects poorly upon the league as a whole. Until we find a wag out, and another conference to accept us, we are basically relegated to lower tier status. We arent exactly Group of 5, but we're not far off either. For a team trying to build back to elite status thats a tough sale to recruits. Join our conference...go undefeated...get left out of the big dance.

Clemson isnt FSU. Clemson’s Ppriot CFP appearances have been with teams that are easily much better than this FSU team. And I’m referring to the Florida State team with Travis. They were never a top four team. Anyone who was at the Florida State game earlier this year at Clemson could see that. not even close.
The truth is harsh. I’m a bit surprised at all the support for a conference that has never supported us. Regardless, both Clemson and Florida State are leaving the ACC sooner rather than later this decision has nothing to do with it

Creating a fake argument for folks who disagree with you. No one (or at least no one I’ve see ) is beating the ACC drum and crying for the conference. The closest it has come is folks, rightly, pointing out the conference record against the SEC this year. That’s wins and losses. On the field actual facts.
The point is simple, claiming to know best based on an injury is the wrong direction for this sport and sets a horrible precedent. I think Kirk’s repeated talk of the cfp committee considering injuries was a distinct misreading of the criteria (and one the committe hid behind). The point of that is considering unities looking back, not looking forward. Looking back to see a team lost in a game where they were missing their top player is a much different exercise from looking forward and trying to pretend you know what’s going to happen.

No one is creating a fake argument. Florida State was never, ever the fourth best team even with Travis. It’s really that simple. Where the committee screwed up is they ranked them to high before the conference championship games. Should’ve never been in that fourth spot

FSU did everything they needed to do. They were robbed of a rightful chance to win it all.
You can pretend to know what outcomes would be, but that’s about it. They should absolutely have the chance to play for it. Total crime.
The committee did this without a care in the world. It can’t be justified. They did this simply because this is the last year of the 4 team field, and they know the complaints will be short lived based on moving to 12 next year. They totally abused logic and bumped the name team based on ONE game instead of a body of work.

Ahhh, the big quesion. What kind of conference are you talking about? Not just any conference I would think. There may be a second or third place finish in another conference better than some other's champion. I'm not saying FSU should be or shouldn't be in but just because one wins a conference should't be a deciding fact. I think there should be a set amount of top ten or top twenty opponent schedule that has to be played against to quality. If you're undefeated but only play a couple then you're playing inferior competition and do not enter consideration. The ACC was better this year than usual, though.

Well the game last night was never competitive. Louisville had 0 chance to win that game once you watched what was happening on the field.
FSU did dominate. 16-6 isn’t crazy score but the dominance was evident. FSU win was never in doubt

You can try to tell everyone “they’re not one of the 4 best” but that CLEARLY speculative opinion. Nobody truly knows how any game will turn out.
Teams win in different ways. Scoring a bunch of points and looking pretty shouldn’t be part of the equation. It’s not in any other sport, and using a ridiculous “eye test” as justification of this bullcrap is silly. Any other sport, and an undefeated P5 conference champion DESERVES a shot. Spare me the , “they aren’t one of the four best”.
Why even play the games? Use the “eye test” to subjectively determine a best team and be done with it. Right? It’s the same concept.

It’s somehow “beta” to want the results (wins and losses) on the field to be the ultimate deciding factor? Seems odd to think that deciding who the better team is based on feelings and impressions is somehow the more traditionally “manly” way.
I ain’t crying, and I ain’t upset for FSU (screw em), but for the sport this is a wrong decision and reeks of bias and preconceived notions.

at the right time of year? Impossibly subjective, this isn’t gymnastics, it’s one of the most violent sports and bad things happen to players who actually play the game. Rosters are never intact all the way through the season. what matters is not how flashy your offense is, it’s winning a very complicated game any way you can, off, def, special teams, anything to get an edge. Now you’re right, that’s how the committee operates, but all it does is punish student athletes who do their very best. Fsu had a perfect season. Alabama lost at home by double digits, and their place in the playoff was taken by the team that beat them head to head. Did the cfp do a brilliant job creating the best possible ratings? They want to bring up the QB situation then bring up the Auburn game.
Auburn was the better team. FSU would of had several weeks to get the QB ready. Ohio state won it all with the 3rd string QB.
The ACC had a winning record against the SEC.

the 2nd string guy would have basically a month to prepare and be the one starting. The only reason he didn’t play yesterday was due the fact he hadn’t cleared concussion protocol yet. With their Defense, and more balance(passing game) on O, FSU could compete. Michigan, UW and Washington have top tier QBs. Bama and UGA don’t.

You alright buddy? Did the SEC’s #### hit you across the face a little hard last night?
FSU played all the games. They won them all. Watching the game last night, nobody actually thought Louisville would score again. They dominated defensively. It had the same feeling as our game against SCAR.
13-0, P5 conference champ, better SOR than Bama. If that’s us this year, we’re getting left out, too.

Would score, and that's what the CFP saw too. If the CFP was in expanded format and FSU got left out, that would be a problem. But in picking 4 teams the CFP has to act as surrogate for a playoff and their choice implied FSU without Travis would get knocked out in the first round. That's a safe bet.

Winning on the strength of your defense isn’t lesser than winning on the strength of your offense.
I get the CFP has to put teams on the field who they think will create the best matchups and thus the best, most closely contested games, but what other post season organizer does that? It’s just simply not right to leave an undefeated P5 champ out, and you know that as well as me. They deserve a chance to go win it all, even if they win the next two 2-0, scoring only a safety.
I understand the logic, just don’t think it’s right at all. Guess that’s the Sally in me.

If Bama had beaten Ga 16-6 with their third string QB, would they have been left out? I don’t think so. Bama was a lock. Also if Fla St is such a bad team without their starting QB, why were they put ahead of Georgia? Makes no sense.

This is bigger than "FSU's QB was hurt". This basically signaled that as far as the committee is concerned, the ACC is done as a conference. We need to take note and call the Big 10. If that's Clemson being left out and not FSU, I imagine some of you would have much different feelings.

Do you really think that Georgia is the 6th best team? If they want the 4 best teams then Georgia should be in. That would have upset everybody. They define "best" by different means in the same group of teams. That might be the reason that the committee has NEVER gotten it right. Not a single year has gone chalk by their rankings. Totally disagree and don’t appreciate being called a Sallie. To me the committee got this wrong no matter which side you fall on.
On the FSU should be in side, if you look at ‘17, the committee overlooked how injured and poorly AL was playing on selection Sunday and put them in the playoff. They went back and looked at how well Bama was playing before and projected that forward a month - not punishing them for losing to Auburn nor that they almost certainly avoided a second loss by missing the SECCG. Yet, they did not do the same for FSU. FSU would be a dangerous team with a month to bring their backup QB up to speed. Further, show me one objective measure that clearly shows Bama Ian’s TX are better.
On the FSU should be out side, I also think they got it wrong. The commissioner said they discussed multiple times who would you rather play. If that is how you decide, I am pretty sure those folks who would rather play FSU than AL would also rather play them than UGA & OSU. So putting them at five was too high.
To me, this is just “eye test” “SEC! SEC! SEC!” subjective, agenda-driven spin. It is wrong, and I would love to see the ACC stand up for their teams.

YOU MAY DISAGREE WITH THE COMMITTEE'S DECISION, AND FEEL FSU WAS CHEATED, BUT TO SUGGEST SOME GRAND CONSPIRACY IS PURE APPLESAUCE. FSU WOULD HAVE BEEN IN IF A) TRAVIS DIDN'T GO DOWN, OR B) FSU HAD ROLLED LOUISVILLE. GIVEN NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS HAPPENED, THE LOGICAL CONCLUSION WAS THAT FSU WAS NO LONGER A TOP TIER TEAM.
