The timing is critical here for the incubation period and such.
This is going to take some innovation and coordination to get this new variant into a practice down there in Tallahassee.
However, one of those cheap COVID tests that trends toward a POSITIVE result, may do the trick as well.

How do you know yet...they have not played a good football team yet...when Jordan Travis gets pressure it is a different game...as you know you can buy or steal a football team now...and greed is a powerful mistress...you can own two police departments, cover up rape and theft...there are few limits for Florida Women's Teacher College...we still have a secret weapon...DABO!

But it’s still not nearly time to crown them.
We’ll be settling this portal vs non in two weeks. I think we can handle just like we did last year. One more warm up game with 600 yards and we’ll be ready.

I'm still not convinced they are as good as everyone thinks they are. We will see who is for real this year after 5 or 6 games. Everybody just jumps on the narrative and runs with it. I'm waiting for a bigger sample from everyone.

The transfer portal is the best thing that ever happened to schools with wealthy fanbases but have had trouble recruiting.

Whatever the reason. They are media darlings without accomplishing a thing in a decade. I want nothing more than for our defensive talent to shine against them and shut everyone up. I’m sick of the love fest already. Amazing that it took into his fifth year of playing for Travis to move the needle. Cade will be better by the end of this year.

It's two games and we have no idea whether LSU is worth a crap or not. It's way too early to declare any team 'arrived,' imo.

When Norvell came to FSU the situation was horrible. Lack of talent and poor attitudes all over the field. Seriously, when the players went out to practice they were getting together working on their dance routines rather than working on getting better. Practice was disorganized and sloppy. Players didn't know where they were supposed to be as they transitioned from one practice period to the next.
Norvell couldn't get a 4 or 5 star to even talk to him, much less get him on campus for a visit. So, he did the only thing he could do - use the portal.
The first year his big get was Jermaine Johnson, a DE from UGA who was splitting time at UGA. Somehow Norvell convinced him to come. He had a great season and and was a first round draft pick.
The next year he also got guys like Trey Benson (a little known RB from Oregon who was injured and played very little). Johnny Wilson came from AZ where he had caught 3 passes. And, he got Jared Verse, from Albany.
The bottom line is he hit on the portal almost 100%. After 10 wins last year, it was much easier to recruit. No way would Keon have come to FSU before that 10 win season.
His HS recruiting is also picking up. It was better last year, and from the look of things it will be a top 5-10 class this year.
So, the short answer to your question
1. He did a great job scouting and evaluating talent.
2. He's done a great job developing the talent he has recruited.
Now, does that mean FSU will beat Clemson? Not at all. But, after yesterday I am at least willing to say the game is a pick em game. Before yesterday I had Clemson about a 5 point favorite.
Cade has to get mentally better and not panic when put under pressure. I assure you, he will be put uder pressure by FSU a lot more than he was by Duke or CSU.

So quick? Bad question. They have sucked for years. Quick. Lol
Clemson won last year by doing well in the line of scrimmage, controlling their qb.
Portal. FSU had glaring weaknesses and no depth in spots, so yes portal helped them.
Will we lose? Not sure, that’s why we play the game. When a good team with a very talented qb comes to town - yes, they stand a chance.

Who knows what FSU really has. How good they are will really depend on how much their O-Line and defense has really improved. They beat LSU handily but gave up a ton of yards. LSU followers were concerned about their ability to rush the passer outside of Harold Perkins. They got no sacks.
If it is a factor of LSU not really having a good pass rush they FSU might be fools gold.
They do have a favorable schedule this year- LSU in Orlando, Clemson on the road, Florida on the road ( they are a lot better than FL but it is a rivalry game), Miami and Duke at home.
I think they could be a playoff team perhaps with one loss but they could be marginally better than last year and still be a 10 win team.
