Noon kickoffs and Clemson.

3

Oct 14, 2023, 1:51 PM

Lot of high ranked teams kicked off today at noon. Is it because Clemson is not playing?

Guess we're not the only team that gets "disrespected".

;)

Go Tigers AND stay well Clemson Nation!

Was thinking the same. UGA had to kickoff at 11am local time…oh the disrespect!

I think the Michigan administration like ours

It has become a really weird thing amongst Clemson fans to complain about noon kickoffs.

I think it’s mostly the bandwagon fans and the young fans.
They think night games at Clemson are a tradition, and they really are not at all.

I agree with your thoughts, but I think the newer and younger fans just like the added excitement and environment that comes with night games. And more time to drink before the game.

Just because some people want night games does not mean we are being “disrespected” with noon games.

The crying over noon games is comical.

I agree with you Row86, when i was coming up the Tigers played all
of their games during the day.If it's a game between two ranked teams
or championship game I realize the night game is best.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep!

Oct 14, 2023, 3:04 PM

1:00 games were the norm, and about once a year we would get the 2:30 “prime time” game on CBS. Lol

Have you tried getting into Clemson for a noon game? For TV viewers it’s fine, but getting there and having time to grab a bite is an issue.
Oh, and I’m not young, nor a bandwagoner.

I’m sorry you have to get up/leave early to beat traffic. Clemson should definitely only have late games so everyone can sleep in…

Is it better to still be driving home at 3am? How did you manage when all our games were early?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We get a hotel room I-26 Clinton for late games.

I live in the Lowcountry and I’ve never made it in 3.5 hours. Between traffic around cootlumbia and construction on I26 it’s 4.5 at best. Very frustrating.

When I was young, just about every home was at 1:00 if that’s close enough for you.
I lived 5 hours away, attended every game, and loved every minute of it.

Oct 15, 2023, 11:20 PM [ in reply to Re: Right. ]

Actually yes. Left the house in Greenville at 7:15, swung by Chick-fil-A a mile away, then to pick up our student & her friend off campus, made it to East Campus parking area, ate, had time to walk to stadium and get into seats just as Tiger Band hit the field. Not a leisurely tailgate like a 3:30 game, but still very manageable.

Are night games any better? I used to drive in from Asheville for the games and we wouldn’t get home from night games until 4-5 AM.

Iv never understood why ppl say this , I mean fans hate nooners I get it I def do too when it’s a home game … I’d prefer a late rowdy crowd but the noon slot is actually a big slot for tv they want teams ppl
Will watch.

If I’m at home, noon is perfect. If I go to the game, 3:30 is ideal, drinking at 9am is always a long day.
