No matter how much we were against this expansion

it is done now. I don't know how much longer Clemson will be in the ACC from this point forward, so not sure how long we will be in the same league as Cal, Stanford and SMU. But I will say that all three schools will make the league better than it was yesterday. I just watched a wonderful announcement that SMU had today. They are so happy, excited and proud to be new members of this conference. I think they will make a great addition. Dallas will be an exciting place to compete.
I know our administration had its reasons for voting no and I respect that, and even applaud that they did what they thought was best for Clemson. Now, it is time to welcome the fans and athletes from these three great schools. Here's to a big welcome to SMU, California and Stanford to the Atlantic Coast Conference.

It would be alright if we were just welcoming three new teams but thats not the issue ..bringing in the LEFT coast in my opinion is wrong these people don't hold the values of southern football...these people don't have the values that the normal southerner have for football ..its a mistake to invite the liberal cost into the acc ........

Good gracious, some have to bring politics into everything.

I hate to tell you, but the ACC is not the Southern genteel conference you portray it to be. Miami, Boston College, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame ... ring bell?

Yep, the communists brought politics into everything. Most of us just wanted to be left alone to enjoy sports and entertainment without being inundated with neo-marxist nonsense. First they vomited wokeness and social justice all over everything including our sports. Then they locked us down and forced us to wear masks and sit 6 feet apart just to go to a basketball game and then they tried to have us fired from our jobs for not getting a shot. The communists threw a temper tantrum and burned cities down for 4 years just because their person wasn't in the white house. And now they say why do you have to bring politics into everything. Trying to use our values against us. Nope. We didn't want it this way. The tyrants showed themselves. The communist made the rules. It's his game now. But we're here to play it. Everything is politics now. Embrace it. And if you don't like it go find a commie to complain to, it's their rules.

Do you want the southern states to secede from the union again? And do you think every person in a southern state, or even associated with the south, should be required to fit a certain mold.

I wouldn't use PRIDE; it's already spoken for and may not be something you want connected as "Southern"...

I understand that you have no idea that the people that came to the south came here to get out of the coal mines of west Virginia to escape the poverty of the coal mines but these are the people that made the Appalachia people who they are. Unlike the people that just showed up one day to get a job in the south because the north have screwed up everything up north ...at least read a history book please

81-85. Sadly some do. I’m older and been a lot of places and folks are pretty much the same everywhere as long as you keep politics out of it but that’s impossible to do nowadays.
(Except for Vancouver. You can have Vancouver LOL)

You are forgetting that while we are a part of southern football culture the additions of BC and Syracuse in particular ended the notion that we are a southern football conference. I am in agreement with you that I wasn't excited about bringing in schools from the west coast politics don't dominate my thoughts and don't matter at all in the debate. The regionalism that we all have known for-well-all of our lives is over. Kinda reminds me of NASCAR and their attempts to become national. It doesn't work and won't work in this instance with college football. But then we all know this is just temporary. Eventually we will see all of this turn into some other league of whatever the powers that be want it to be

Im not sure you realize what conference Clemson is in.

Cal has not ever been relevant except a brief time in the early ‘90s

SMU has not been relevant since their death penalty in the mid ‘80s

Stanford is an average FB program having not won the PAC Conf 1 time in last 50 years Washington St has won it 2 times in 50 years but best in Olympic Sports

I thank CU for voting no. We need to own that going forward and exit promptly to a better venue. This ND orchestrated joke is ridiculous and the gutless ACC letting it happen will deserve what they get.

We still need out, but will definitely benefit from the deal

Sep 2, 2023, 6:06 AM

The existing members of the ACC are indisputably in a better position than they were yesterday at least in terms of the revenue gap. Still not a long term solution but more money in the interim is not a bad thing.
