There no tampering in recruiting, it’s just recruiting. Also, the kid plays in a Texas private school league, and those are garbage, so there’s no way to know how good he is as he’s not playing top competition. We’ve got bigger fish wanting to come on board in Sanders, Short, and Gidden

Whatever he may have meant, he has shown that a commitment coming from his mouth is 999% worthless, and this kid claimed that his decision was bc God had answered his prayers. Now IMO, he actually don't have any faith in God, or his parents have done a lousy job with raising and teaching him...

I agree with you, but isn't it true of all of us? How many, who actually believe in God, turn our allegiance for things that, prove to be fools gold? Here, however, we are seeing too the effects of a culture driven to promote "Me".

This kid is a kid. We can regret his decision, but hope his lesson in commitment will be like a laxative: fast, gentle and effective.

He went from "all in" and "100% sure this is where God wants me" to "after further consideration I rushed a decision and now I don't know" in not even two months.

He got wrapped up in his feelings and acted on emotions instead of a rational calculated decision.

You know what happened? He got a girlfriend that he can't bear the thought of being 900 miles away from for a semester at a time. Who knows if they'll even be together by the time he graduates high school.

Count your blessings because this is a kid who doesn't get much playing time as a freshman and suddenly enters the transfer portal because some assistant coach at Texas whispered in his ear and tampered with him.

Be glad we didn't waste any more resources on him. With Matt Luke on board, we can recruit a five-star with his scholarship who will take his spot and actually produce on the field.

Either youre reading comprehension is not very good, or you’re functionally retarded, but seeing your replies on this thread, I’d tend to lean towards the latter. No one said Dabo Or any coaches are involved in pay to play. Not sure if you’re aware, but there’s this little thing called “NIL” that’s now available to players. We have a very well funded NIL program called 101Society, and we use it. Jason Priester has mentioned many times that form the parents he’s talked to, the NIL packages are very competitive as well. So, in short, we do pay. Sorry if that shattered your world view.

So, yes, we are involved, to the point that it is "legal". Highly doubt Dabo, or any of the other coaches, would do anything immoral, but they will take advantage of what is available.

That's kinda what I thought too. Dabo had a good interview I listened to on YouTube. Don't think it was posted here. Anyway, point is, Dabo stated that they spend a lot of time trying to talk a kid out of committing. So, I would 100% agree with JP. People have this misperception that we don't or can't pay kids, or even discuss nil. This kid isn't looking for money. He knows our policy as well. No official after a commit. Doubtful, but he could end up here.

I think, and then again, I could be wrong, but bigger schools with a much bigger alumni base in the areas of a much bigger economy can generate a lot more NIL money to offer an athlete/player, and that is the main flaw of the NIL that is making it so difficult to come up with a way to govern it in a way to make it equal for every school...

I guess we should wait until he is jumping up and turning cartwheels while saying this school offered me a lot of money to go there before we really know if NIL money was involved or his biggest attracting!!!

We could give him the benefit of the doubt until there is some sort of evidence his words were not true.

So in other words God’s decision when speaking to him was rash?? If he comes to Clemson later will we let him rub the rock? Seems the 110% meaning is not very clear to him. As we say around the plant, don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!

Yep, they couldn't make it without their son going somewhere that offered the most money regardless of the quality of education...

Look, when you are getting commitments from juniors in high school, you are just have to hope they will not change their mind. These kids are 16-17 years old and if you have children or grandchildren that age, like we do, you know that they will change their minds at the drop of a hat.

Who cares? Goodbye! Whoever is on the roster for game one is all I care about. If any of you other lazy money hungry kids are reading this then get the hell out too. We only want high character kids that want to be here. You guys make such a big deal out of these kids it ain't even funny. If he wants to go then go and take whoever else doesn't want to be here with you.

love with Clemson to the point of immediate committment, but now his "mentors" are saying "Pump the BRAKES here, we got to get the best $$$ offer out there for US!"

Hope he finally realizes this decision is going to affect HIS life forever going forward a lot more than it will affect the lives of these "mentors", unless they steal his money from him. He may not be done with us yet. A return trip to Clemson may, and most likely WILL be in order.

Somehow the Tigers will survive this.

Any kid who passed up a chance to be a Tiger has a problem. Imo

Being that he is a 3 star I don’t think there is that much of a loss. But it is suspicious like another University was involved or should I say maybe tampering.
