Nightmare Scenario

Jul 26, 2022, 8:36 PM

The New York Times owned by Murdoch came out recently against Trump. They have an editorial that states it’s ridiculous that Trump continues to state that the election was stolen. This is very significant, as of course Murdoch owns Fox. The editorial suggests that Republicans consider other Republican candidates that aren’t Trump.

This is my fear. Someone besides Trump gets the Republican nomination. Trump, being the nut job that he is runs independent. Consequently the Democratic candidate wins. (ala Bill Clinton and Ross Perot in 1992)

I just don’t see a scenario where Trump does the right thing and concedes that he can’t win the Republican nomination and throws his support behind someone else. I’m hoping some of you can convince me I’m wrong. But this man is clearly an extremely selfish person. Having said that I don’t have a problem with his policies but his personality disorder makes him a person that should not be president.

Bottom line is I just don’t see a way that Trump helps Republicans unless he is the nominee. That really scares me.

The good thing is you can count on the onerous system of

ballot access laws to cut Trump's third party bid off at the knees.

By the time he would decide to run as an independent, there would not be enough time for him to get on enough ballots to make a difference. The only reason he'd do it is to get back at the GOP, and if he does anyways, it's what the GOP deserves.

No reason to fret. Biden wins a second term with 200 million votes.

The New York Times would consider it a nightmare scenario if Rupert Murdoch owned the Times. He owns the NY Post.

Trump if he can’t win the GOP nomination would have no chance as an Independent and would get smoked. He is not a good loser, so I don’t see this scenario coming to be.

That was a factor. I think he really lost because Clinton was a good bullshyater. He was smooth and George HW Bush was not.

I’d like to correct a common fallacy

Ross Perot actually lost because of Bush.

Ross Perot was great! Loved the charts!

them disagreeable.

Perot never had a chance.
