new video screen problem

Sep 17, 2012, 12:02 PM

they spend all this money on the new screen and can't even get the aspect ratio correct!

If you look at the two smaller screens in the WEZ they are 4:3. The screen above the hill is 16:9 yet still shows the exact same image as the smaller screens, they are just stretching a 4:3 image onto a huge 16:9 board.

What they should do is shoot the footage in 16:9 and crop it to fit the smaller screens, IDOITS!

the picture on the BIG one to have the smaller ones correct? Bothered me all of the Ball State game.

Exactly

For all of the discussion during the off-season I'm not sure why this doesn't bother more people, its like spending a bunch of money to buy a HDTV and then using composite cables instead of HDMI.

SOMEONE FIX THIS!

This is only true for the video. When they show player stats on the screen or other graphics (like the Verizon tablet picture display thing), they are not stretched.

I honestly would rather see all of the video than a cropped video. It'd be like watching a DVD on a 4:3 screen (assuming the software on the DVD player chooses to crop the video rather than make it look like you're squinting at the screen). Inevitably, there will be something that is in the cropped portion that is somewhat important to the story.

Is it just me or am I the only one upset that carolina's new video board is about twice the size of ours? If making the change, why not get equal to or bigger than the others?
