I sat in same section as Cliff S. during the bowl game that year and he told us himself later on that Cole having Streeter there to talk with between series was a big help.

Having the break to get 100% healthy certainly didn't hurt either. The combination of the two gave him one helluva last rodeo.

Is it me or does Steeter resemble Venables?

He's done a great job with QBs. Can he help coach special teams?!

Think Watson had had ACL surgery before Streeter arrived.

He did have it in December. He was walking around at bowl practices with a brace on.

Not sure if it was the same brace, but he was wearing a brace for the game with South Carolina..and he hadn't had surgury at that time. I thought it was just after the bowl game..not sure, though. GO TIGERS!!!

To my knowledge it was right after exams were over.

Once the decision was made they wanted to do the surgery as soon as possible to give him more time to rehab it.

No Doubt, it was Stoudt (Stoudt's best game!)

As far I am concerned that legitimized Streeter's hire right there!

In my opinion if he could teach these kids an ounce of heart from this man(streeter).... he would be legitimate. Streeter was one hell of a tough qb

Yes, Streeter is tough as nails, and it rubs off on QB's

Morris screwed Stoudt up, because he did not believe in him!

I can't see who believed in who but after he completed more passes to Ga tech than he did our own team I sure as heck quit believing in him. I have never despised a player in Orange like I began to feel about Stoudt. That final performance did not only win is a bowl game I think it saved Cole Stoudt and his confidence. You had to be proud of him.

"Despise" is pretty harsh. You can despise a guy for bad behavior, but probably not for mistakes on a play.
Stoudt was good enough to earn the jersey. Good enough to get the nod. Good enough to stick with for a while. Even without the OU game, there's no reason to hate him. The guy was just a college student playing his heart out for us.

Streeter turned chicken chit into chicken Salad with Stoudt. I didn't even want to watch the sooner bowl game thinking we were sure to lose by 100 but by the half I was thinking aliens had entered into Cole Stoudts body and these aliens were good at football. He will forever get the credit for saving that season

Congratulations Coach Streeter. It's amazing how East Carolina, then being under Morris has shaped him as a good young coach. Having great mentors elevates your game.
